In the four years I have been blogging I don’t think I have come across a more obscure gun than the Parker Hale Rogun. I don’t know when the below prototype was made, if it was ever in production or even precisely how it functioned.

Recently a few firms, most notably Browning, have been launching shotguns with inertia operated actions. Benelli (now owned by Beretta) held a monopoly on the inertia technology until its patent expired a few year ago.

After I first wrote about the SRM Arms 1216 Shotgun over three years ago, it dropped off my radar. It has taken a while but the good news is that the gun is finally in production and on sale to the public.

TsKIB SOO, a subsidiary of the well known Russian firm KBP Instrument Design Bureau, decided to try removing the stock from their MTs-255 Tactical Revolver Shotgun and cutting the barrel down to 7.87″. The result is the OTs-62 12 Gauge “Service Revolver Shotgun”.

I knew when I said that the Browning was the first post-patent Inertia operated shotgun, a reader would find one produced earlier 😉 A reader pointed out the SI 12 shotgun made by the Italian firm Marocchi since 2009. You readers are just to clever for me.

John Moses Browning’s Auto-5 is back in production, sort of. The newest incarnation of the Auto-5 is the Browning A5. While it has the distinctive Auto-5 “humpback” appearance, inside it is all new. Browning ripped out the nifty long-recoil (recoiling barrel) system and replaced it with a new short-recoil system.

Iraqveteran8888 demonstrates homemade wax slugs in the below video. To make these slugs you just buy some #8 target shot shells, remove the shot, mix the shot with wax and then pour back into the shotshell. They seem to hit accurate and hard.

A Brazilian drug dealer was captured earlier this month along with his gigantic homemade 11 lbs revolver. The revolver chambers five 2.75″ 12 gauge cartridges. This dealer went with a traditional revolver look, rather than the tacti-cool styling of the infamous Taiwanese 12 gauge revolver.

FNH USA has announced their first over and under shotgun, the FN SC-1. The gun was designed for their competition team and they are producing just 200 guns of this model (with a second generation of the gun coming next year). The Belgium-made shotgun is essentially a Winchester Model 101 trap gun with a laminated stock and FN engraving (Winchester guns are manufactured by FN).
