Heckler & Koch Announces HK USA

Renowned German firearms manufacturer Heckler & Koch has announced the launch of HK USA, which may have many scratching their heads wondering, “Isn’t that already a thing?” Well, yes and no. Until now HK USA has imported and assembled Heckler & Koch firearms from their headquarters in Columbus, Georgia while design and manufacturing have remained largely in Germany. This dynamic has sparked deep-seated misconceptions about the company’s commitment to the American commercial market. Unanswered demand for models and features has frustrated the community, inspiring claims that Heckler & Koch hates its customers and reserves its focus for military contracts.

HK USA didn’t just get a logo facelift. After five years of work, the initiative to expand its presence allowing the company to design and manufacture products right here in the United States is finally a reality. This move is set to address both German export laws and US import laws that have previously hindered Heckler & Koch from making many popular models and configurations available to American shooters. Yes, this is the reason. It isn’t because they hate you or find it distasteful to turn a profit as a business.

Below is HK’s announcement:

The company is set to hit the ground running with HK USA already announcing that they expect to introduce three major new and/or enhanced platforms between mid-October and and February 2025. HK USA posted a letter on   hkpro.com announcing the move, following up with answers and clarifications to some of the community’s questions regarding upcoming releases as well as production and quality control expectations.

This is an exciting development for the American commercial firearms market unless, of course, you are in the business of producing HK clones. I’d be lying if I didn’t confess to being personally excited about the possibilities and I know more than a handful of HK fans likely bruised up from the ensuing mosh pit after hearing the news. It does look like the MP7 is on the table, but shooters will have to be patient as HK USA gets the ball rolling for 2025 and beyond.

Alright, give it to me folks! Tell us what models you’d like to see HK USA release, update, or bring back. I know some of you may be wondering if the move will affect pricing. I’m curious about that one too. As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts, hopes, and dreams in the comments below.

Keep up with everything HK USA at www.hk-usa.com

Can't wait for their same handgun lineup, only with inferior button mag releases.

I can't remember when HK came out with anything new or exciting. They should stick to cracking out the SOS for non civillian sales so they become even more irrelenvant
