Welcome to another edition of TFB’s Photo Of The Day! By now we suppose that most of our readers are familiar with TFB’s concept of daily images in combination with an explanation of what’s going on, and with what.

Here’s the caption that goes with the feature image:

“Korean soldiers assigned to Republic of Korea Army South’s 1st Armored Brigade fire K2 assault rifles during a combined arms live fire exercises at Nightmare Range, near Pocheon, South Korea, August 14, 2024. Battalions from ROK Army joined the U.S. Army 1st Armored Division to train on interoperability and command and control on the battlefield through mechanized infantry support.”

The K2C1 version has been around since 2016 and features an “exterior design changed without performance improvements", according to the South Korean Defense Specification. This means a quad accessory rail, a full-length 1913 Picatinny optics rail, an AR-15-style six-position collapsing and a Magpul-based foldable stock. I have to say I’m missing a red dot, or anything better than iron sights but once upon a time, a younger me was also able to shoot really well like this.
