Griffin Armament Announces New Sportsman Ultra Light HD Hunting Can

Tis the season, hunting season that is. Just in time, Griffin Armament is announcing its new line of Sportsman Ultra Light HD Hunting Suppressors. Promising that your next hunt just got quieter, the Sportsman Ultra Light HD .300 and .36 are designed by hunters, for hunters, and feature maximum suppression while reducing critical weight out in front of your rifle, giving hunters everything they need and nothing they don’t while maintaining budget-friendliness.

Construction

When Griffin Armament says HD, they mean “High Durability,” as the Sportsman Ultra Light HD series features tubeless laser welding technology, providing near-titanium weight while using more durable 17-4 H900 heat-treated stainless steel. The preceding Sportsman Ultra Lights were constructed from aluminum and had to be confined to a handful of rounds before needing to be cooled down. With restrictions lifted on the HD series, hunters can enjoy peace of mind knowing their suppressor is built to handle whatever is thrown at it.

Features

Sportsman Ultra Light HD suppressors feature Griffin's patented ECO-FLOW baffle technology, decreasing back pressure and allowing better function on semi-auto host rifles while minimizing exposure to toxic gases. Using industry-standard 1.375x24 HUB threading, shooters are able to use a variety of HUB mount adapters from Griffin Armament as well as other manufacturers. The HD suppressors will not come with a muzzle device, however, common 1/2x28 and 5/8x24 adapters are a free add-on when purchased on the manufacturer’s website, and are included in the box at your local Griffin Armament dealer.

Options

HD suppressors, machined in Griffin’s Watertown, Wisconsin facility by freedom-loving Americans, will come in two caliber configurations, both available in black and FDE with your choice of HUB Mount Interface, Direct Thread, DUAL-LOK, GATE-LOK, or Taper Mount.

The Sportsman Ultra Light HD .300 features a 6.09” suppressor body length weighing in at 10 ounces even and is rated for .30 caliber cartridges up to .300 RUM at an MSRP of $599.95.

The Sportsman Ultra Light HD .36 features the same 6.09” suppressor body length and weighs in at 10.4 ounces while being rated for .36 caliber and 9mm cartridges up to .338 Lapua Magnum. MSRP on this one comes to $649.95.
