Welcome to another Photo Of The Day! Here’s Johan Hansen from the Swedish National Team, shooting one of the stages at the Rifle World Shoot in Finland. After some rough days on some of the long-range stages, he fought back and ended up on the podium after Todd Jarret and Jerry Miculek in Super Senior.

Here is what the stage looked like. Five IPSC Classic targets at about 50 to 70 meters away. No big deal, except that the starting position was sitting with the rifle unloaded (condition 2), just a little bit too far away from you. I was our squad’s first shooter on this stage, so I think the rest of the squad learned from my mistakes on how not to get the boat rocking. At least I walked away without getting wet, and without misses. I’m still not sure if sitting down or standing up was the right choice, but I think I would have gone standing up again if I got a reshoot, but I’d bend my knees much more.

Below is the original image. The riflescope is the new Kahles K18i-2 in a mount from Spuhr. The shooting is from the boat, which hangs on chains and is supported by springs. Someone put a lot of work into that boat.
