Did you ever try anything similar?

There are Bluefire Weapon Simulators similar to the SIG M17/M18, the M4s and many other firearms.

U.S. Naval Academy Midshipmen practice looking through a rifle combat optic while using an Indoor Simulated Marksmanship Trainer.

The purpose of PORTAMID Marine Week is to expose Midshipmen directly to the wide array of opportunities for Junior Marine Corps officers in the Fleet Marine Force to generate and foster interest in pursuing a Marine Corps Commission.
