In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves reviews the new Springfield SA-35 Hi-Power clone. Springfield pulled out all of the stops making this clone and even tweaked the original design to improve upon its weaknesses. Mainly, the original magazine safety has been removed, allowing Springfield’s version to have a much better trigger. The hammer has been re-contoured to eliminate slide bite that the older models sometimes caused. It uses improved 15 rounds magazines instead of the 13 round magazines of the original Hi-Power. The safety has been improved as well, and the SA-35 has a beveled magazine well. This gun also costs only $699 MSRP. But how did this Hi-Power clone turn out? Check today’s video to find out.

In this episode of TFBTV, Hop previews the newest model of the venerable Mossberg 590 shotgun: the 590S. The Mossberg 590S is everything you know and love about the 590, but with some internal tweaks that allow it to reliably cycle mini shells without the use of an adapter. The new 590S, and 590S Shockwave will feed 2 3/4″, 3″, and 1 3/4″ short shells interchangeably. Using short shells gives you a 50 percent increase in capacity and a significant reduction in recoil. In a full-size shotgun like the 590, they’re a bit of a gimmick, but in the stubby Shockwave, they actually start to make sense.

In this episode of TFBTV, Hop reviews the new optics-ready Mossberg MC2SC. This double-stack micro 9mm carry handgun has a standard capacity of 11 rounds and a super low optics cut that allows the factory iron sights to cowitness through a red dot. This is the first pistol in the Mossberg MC series that it’s easy to get excited about, and it may even be able to stand out in a highly competitive market.

James accepted your challenge, and, in this video, he accessorizes the Mossberg Maverick 88 and takes it to the range to subject it to a 505-round torture test of mixed 12 gauge loads. James and the crew from the St. Bernard Indoor Shooting Center in Arabi, LA subject the Maverick 88 to one round of 12 gauge every 9 seconds for 77 straight minutes. How’d it do? This rifle is PSA’s take on the AR-10 or LR-308 platform; available with an 18″ or 20″ barrel, and a variety of trigger and handguard options. The out of the box features of the PA-10 are very basic, making it a canvas for aftermarket customization. Of course, none of that matters if it’s not accurate, so in a show of admirable self-restraint, Hop actually did some accuracy testing too. Operators switch from tube to tube by using a cross-bolt tube selector switch. The M&P 12 uses AR-15 grips and has plenty of M-LOK and Picatinny rail for optics mounting.
