At SHOT Show 2024, Hop visited the Kriss USA booth to see the new 3rd generation Vector. The new gun is still available as a carbine, pistol, or SBR, and has a few changes to make it more appealing to buyers in 2024. The rear of the gun now has a short length of Picatinny rail so it no longer requires the use of the proprietary Kriss stock. The carbine length Vector CRB now has accessory rail slots on the removable barrel shroud, and the muzzle is threaded. The 3rd generation guns also have an improved trigger, swappable grip, and a more slimmed-down look.

Mountain Billy Gun Lab, known for the GOAT-15 – a lightweight AR-style rimfire, has expanded its offerings with the introduction of the LR47 at SHOT Show 2024. The new rifle maintains the company’s reputation for scaled-down firearms, following a design philosophy similar to its GOAT-15 predecessor. The LR47 features a scaled-down AK-style trigger system and retains robust metal internals while being housed in a lightweight plastic chassis.

At the SHOT Show 2024, Faxon Firearms displayed their ARAK-21 rifle, which is currently in production and slated to begin shipping in the second quarter of 2024. The ARAK-21 is distinctive due to its combination of design elements from both the AK and AR platforms, featuring a long-stroke gas-operated action. Today Luke C is back on the SHOT Show 2024 floor with Zenith Firearms to talk about their wild roller delayed rifle, the ZF-56. This new rifle combines a lot of the handling characteristics and features of the much-loved AR-15 platform with the theoretically more robust roller-delayed blowback system. The ZF-56 will be available in both 5.56 and .300 Blackout upon initial launch, and of course, that means that the ZF-56 will be compatible with all standard AR magazines.

This week we’re headed to France, or rather talking about a French-made gun that is not only really rare in the United States, but rare for rimfire firearms in general. We’re talking about our titular firearm for today’s Rimfire Report – the Gevarm series of open-bolt 22LR semi-auto rifles.

The Evo 3 S1 22LR is a near 1:1 copy of the 9mm Scorpion Evo 3 with the same foldable and collapsible stock, M-LOK handguard, and overall size, simply just chambered for the much more economical and lighter recoiling 22LR cartridge.

New for 2024, Daniel Defense is bringing their first-ever pistol caliber carbine to market. Hop dropped in on a rain-soaked Daniel Defense range day to shoot it and get the details. The aptly but boringly named DD PCC is built around the readily available 9mm CZ Scorpion magazine pattern and has fully ambidextrous controls mirrored on both sides of the receiver. Recoil is mitigated by a hydraulic buffer system from Kynshot. Most of the other parts are standard to the AR platform. The Daniel Defense PCC will be available initially with a 16″ barrel or as a factory SBR with an 8.5″ barrel, both paired with the Daniel Defense MFR M-LOK handguard.

Montana-based Olympus Arms returns to SHOT Show’s Industry Day at the Range with their Vulcan rifle. The company has been busy refining the design of the weapon and has decided to bring the bulk of its parts manufacturing in-house, making a significant investment in new machine tools.
