CMMG have introduced a new line of PDW firearms dubbed Dissent. CMMG Dissent utilizes the company’s new patent-pending Compact Action in which the reciprocating action parts are contained within the upper receiver eliminating the need for a stock with a buffer/recoil spring mechanism inside it. According to the company, this is the shortest, most stowable Personal Defense Weapon that CMMG has built to date. Let’s take a closer look at the new CMMG Dissent PDWs.

Hello and welcome to another edition of The Rimfire Report! This ongoing series is all about the rimfire firearm world and its various guns, gear, sports, and ammunition. Last week we talked a bit about CCI Stingers for use as a concealed carry .22LR cartridge. Once again we saw that although the round can get pretty fast and expand pretty aggressively out of a rifle, it really doesn’t hold up when shot from a backup-sized pistol. That being said, if it’s all you’ve got or all you can manage to carry, it is most certainly better than nothing when it comes to a defensive shooting situation. 22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire is the big brother of .22LR and many of you have expressed interest in its viability as a concealed carry cartridge. With the recent release of the Walther WMP – a full-size semi-auto optics-ready .22 WMR pistol – the question has come up in my mind once again to determine whether or not .22 Magnum might actually make for a decent lighter-recoil self-defense cartridge for concealed carry. So today we’ll be taking a closer look at the performance metrics of .22 Magnum to see how well it holds up compared to other lighter recoil options for concealed carry.

In an effort to work around the existing laws on the books and provide hunters and shooters with a firearm they can rely on American Defense Manufacturing is proud to announce the release of the ADM UIC-10A Pistol chambered in .308 Winchester. This Maryland-compliant .308 Winchester pistol features a 12.5″ 1:10 RH twist nitride finished barrel, aircraft-grade aluminum receiver set, and a Geissele SSA 2-stage match trigger among many other features.

The new version of the FN Five-seveN handgun is now called the FN Five-seveN MRD. Famed Special Air Service veteran Christian Craighead and ZEV Technologies are proud to announce their new collaborative pistol, the Craighead OZ9. As you might have guessed from some of the articles I have written this year, I have been going down a slow-motion camera rabbit hole. On a forum for the Chronos high-speed camera, I came across a user’s video recording airsoft guns in high speed. What caught my attention was a peculiar event when he shot semi-automatic gas blowback pistols that have reciprocating slides. As the slide reciprocates back, the pistol exhibits muzzle dip. I was confused by what I was seeing so I investigated further.

Out of all the guns I’ve bought for the Pawn Shop Finds, I never really worried about them being unsafe or having issues despite being dirt cheap. Usually, in the past, I have found some incredibly unique pieces and wild bargains but this one was different from the rest. When it comes to training for self-defense, there are typically three vital parts to successfully protecting yourself. The biggest step is avoidance at all cost, you win every fight you’re never in so that’s the biggest step to remaining safe. The second step is draw stroke and ultimately if things get bad enough the third is shot placement. Pulling your firearm should be absolutely the last resort but there are occasions when there’s no other choice. We’ve talked a few times about certain drills for shot placement and working on your pistol accuracy under stress. One thing we haven’t really looked at is draw stroke and some tips to give you the upper hand when it comes to a faster draw stroke. Let’s take a closer look at ways to draw faster.

Photo Of The Day: Recently, according to a communication from CZ, a CZ 75 TOBRUK pistol raised CZK 5 million – about 220,000 USD – in a charity auction for Ukraine. A limited-edition CZ 75 TOBRUK pistol was sold for CZK 5 million at an evening auction organized by Forbes and the Freedom for Ukraine Initiative. In total, the auction brought in CZK 27.8 million ($1.2 million).

There are plenty of weeks when we talk about the latest gear and training techniques when it comes to carrying a concealed firearm. Typically every week there are discussions about the topics down in the comments below. But what you guys don’t see is we will have random conversations about carry guns in a TFB group chat as well. Whenever someone gets a new carry gun or sees something interesting, we will typically send it to the group chat to have a discussion on a certain firearm. After some conversations, I decided to go through the various firearms most of us at TFB carry on a daily basis. Let’s take a closer look at some of the carry guns of TFB.

In this episode of TFBTV, Hop takes the new SCCY CPX-2 Generation 3 to the range along with the optics-ready DVG-1. The gen 3 CPX-2 has an improved grip shape, a new accessory rail, and is available with an optics cut for micro red dots. Both pistols are very similar except for the trigger; the CPX-2 is hammer-fired with a double action only trigger, whereas the DVG-1 is striker-fired and has a single action trigger.

Certain historical Colt revolvers are deemed more collectible due to their association with a particular inspector, who would stamp their initials on the frame or cartouche on the grip.  New for 2022, Cimarron Firearms has come out with their version of a reproduction “Nettleton” Colt 1873 U.S. Cavalry Revolver, for the very reasonable price of $697.34 MSRP.

FN America have announced the introduction of a new addition to their FN 509 series of polymer-framed pistols. The FN 509 Midsize Tactical comes in black and FDE with FN’s ‘Low-Profile Optics-Mounting System’ and weighs in at 27.9 oz.

Featured on TFB before, NRAAM 2022 was our first chance to get a hands-on look at the new Walther WMP pistol.  Chambered in .22 WMR, this full-size pistol comes feature-loaded right out of the box.  I had a chance to sit down with Walther at NRAAM 2022 and go over some of the features of this new pistol.

Mossberg has just announced that they’ve redesigned their MC2c (compact) 9mm pistol to now include the ability to directly mount a red dot optic to its slide. The Mossberg MC2c was introduced in 2020 and was notable for its ultra-slim profile and stainless-steel black DLC coated slides which made it very concealable and a durable compact option for concealed carry. Now, like the recently released Mossberg MC2sc optic ready subcompact pistols, the MC2c line will feature optics-ready capability and a full co-witness with iron sights.

Colt unveiled a new .22LR target variant of the King Cobra at NRAAM 2022.  Available in both 6″ and 4″ barrel configurations, the new King Cobra Target is where rimfire meets class.  I had a chance to sit down with Colt at NRAAM 2022 to go over the details of the new King Cobra.

FN Herstal is announcing a brand-new 9x19mm handgun called FN HiPer. The new handgun is mainly dedicated to armed forces and law enforcement. The pistol has been designed and developed in Belgium, where it will also be manufactured.

James has reviewed the Shield Plus already in 9mm, but in this video, James is bringing you a comparison of the specs and features with a short discussion of the PLUSes and minuses of the .30 Super Carry round.
