Flex Force Enterprises (formerly Radio Hill) is more widely known for their counter UAV handheld DroneBuster device but the company also makes machine gun mounts that are currently in use by the U.S. Government. Their ASP-Land and ASP-Maritime are gyrostabilized mounts that are designed to be used in both a manual operator role and in a remote-controlled capacity as well. Although most of the photographs of the mount itself show it with a .50 BMG M2 Heavy Machine Gun, it can be configured for any particular platform that a client wants. This is done via a mounting bracket that serves as a ‘sled’ that can have proprietary bolts affixed in it allowing practically any NATO or Soviet-bloc weapon system to be mounted to it.

I have been searching for a compact precision rimfire setup for some time and I may have just found a big piece of the puzzle. Enoch Industries is officially announcing the ODIN Chassis System for 10/22 receivers that has the potential for a host of different rifle and pistol combinations. The ODIN chassis is built to be lightweight and modular, offering shooters a variety of rimfire options. Pricing is set at a reasonable $225.

Late last month, Century Arms successfully defended against a motion to dismiss filed its XTech Tactical lawsuit. The order means that Century’s lawsuit against XTech can continue. The matter involves a waffle patterned AK47 magazine design that Century alleges was infringed upon by XTech Tactical.

Stag Arms have announced their intention to move their headquarters from New Britain, Connecticut.  Stag Arms’ Facebook announcement of the plan to move, however, didn’t expressly state that they’re leaving their current state. However, according to a Middletown Press article, New Britain’s mayor stated that Stag Arms had been “courted by other states since Connecticut passed stringent gun control laws following the 2012 mass shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School.”

AR15.com, the popular and long-serving forum for all things AR-15, and by extension firearms related, has been acquired by the  2nd Adventure Group. AR15.com, set up way back in 1996, joined the 2nd Adventure Group family which includes Brownells, Big Springs, Crow Shooting Supplies, Sinclair International and W.L. Baumler Co. and is owned by Pete and Frank Brownell.  An announcement post, shared on AR15.com on June 3, said the site will continue as it always has but is looking forward to new user interface improvements and a secured continued online presence.

LMT Defense has announced the opening of their new facility located in Eldridge, Iowa. The construction works of the facility began in 2018. This decision was made to allow the company to expand and fulfill the new orders and contracts, namely, the recent Estonian Defence Forces contract.

Kimber Manufacturing has issued a safety recall and warning regarding some optics ready pistols and optics plates manufactured during a specific period in 2018 and 2019. The Kimber Safety Recall covers the Aegis and KHX lines of pistols as well as some optics plates sold separately.

LMT Defense have confirmed their award of the contract for the Estonian Defence Forces new 5.56×45 and 7.62x51mm rifles. We have been closely following the Estonian rifle trials here at TFB and back in December 2018, we reported that Estonia’s military had chosen two of LMT’s rifles. The contracts have now been signed and production and deliveries will begin soon.

When one walks around any large gun/defense/security exhibition, the variety of weaponry on display usually causes a mind-boggling effect, particularly when a camera is being carried by the person mentioned. You turn away from a particular stand or booth and have a glimpse of a gun-covered panel just past a massive APC (Armored Personnel Carrier) or radar antenna in the foreground. “Have I taken photos there?”, you may think. “Should I take pictures later or tomorrow?”. At night, when checking your camera card at the hotel, you start wondering “where the heck are the photos I’m sure I took of gun X in stand Y”?

CZ-USA have announced that they will be investing $90 million to establish their new headquarters and manufacturing base at Little Rock, Arkansas. The two-phase, $90 million project hopes to create 565 jobs over the next six years. Construction at the new site will begin in March 2020.

Our regular readers may remember this  article back in May of 2018 about PRIME Ammo’s new 6mm Creedmoor offering. Cool, but not huge news. The bigger news is why the new cartridge never made it to market. A lot of us would have just written it off as typical gun industry “vaporware”.  Not the case though: in fact this ammunition actually exists and has been (according to PRIME) paid for and produced en mass. However, it has allegedly never been delivered to PRIME. This is one of the complaints in PRIME Ammo’s lawsuit against RUAG Ammotec. Yankee Hill Machine (YHM) has published a press release announcing the establishment of their new premiere bolt action rifle subdivision called Graham Brothers Rifleworks. Under this brand, the company will be selling their MARC chassis and other accessories related to long range shooting.

Without any warning, the social media platform Instagram has deleted The Firearm Blog’s account and all its contents. While the exact reason for the removal is unknown, it doesn’t take a modern-day Sherlock Holmes to make a few basic deductions. TFB’s account was nothing but images of guns and gear. We didn’t post nudity, profanity, incite violence or law breaking or illegal content of any kind. We never paid for followers or abused our account. Ever. Yet The Firearm Blog was deleted from Instagram.

Within a matter of hours, the news of the GLOCK G47 which was designed for the U.S. Customs And Border Protection (CBP), had spread to every corner of the internet. Our inboxes were flooded with tips and images (thank you, by the way) along with a healthy dose of speculation and un-cited analysis. Being the respected firearms news resource that we are (don’t look at me like that), we held off posting any details until we could confirm their validity. The Department Of Homeland Security, Customs And Border Protection (CBP) has just announced that GLOCK has won an $85M contract to supply the agency with 9mm pistols. The contract for duty handguns is set for a 10 year period and provides other DHS agencies the ability to purchase GLOCK pistols at the contract price.

GLOCK has just announced that none other than Chuck Norris will be the company’s new spokesperson, filling a void left vacant by the passing of the legendary R. Lee Ermey last April. Norris says that the principles that he built his life on: “tough, real, consistent and powerful” are all exemplified in the GLOCK brand.

The online edition of the German newspaper Die Welt, reports that H&K management demands the company workforce to work 2.5 to 3 unpaid hours per week. This wage cut is apparently part of a company-wide cost cutting plan.

The acquisition of 10,000 9x19mm Taurus Striker TS-9 pistols by the PNP – Philippine National Police has finally been confirmed by the Brazilian manufacturer, with deliveries in three batches: 2,000 units in 2018 and the remaining 8,000 examples in 2019. Covering the news and events surrounding the demise of the firearms industry’s shooting star Hudson Manufacturing is an unpleasant task. So much promise and excitement dashed upon the shores of our dreams (you can use that line for yourselves if you have the need). But with every piece of news, another piece of the puzzle falls into place. This week, KE Arms announced the availability of Hudson parts available due to unpaid bills by the former pistol makers.

Smith & Wesson‘s parent company  American Outdoor Brands Corp. have announced that they plan to close the firearms manufacturer’s distribution centre in Springfield, Massachusetts. Smith & Wesson’s warehouse and distribution operation will be moved to a new facility in Missouri.

On March 14th of this year, the Connecticut Supreme Court narrowly held that Remington Arms Company could be sued by the families of the victims of the Sandy Hook tragedy. This holding was based on what the court majority called “one narrow legal theory.” What has been decided is that the plaintiffs are “entitled to have the opportunity to prove their … allegations”. To be clear, this is not a ruling against Remington in the sense that many believe it is. What has been determined is that the plaintiffs have offered one argument that the court has not deemed immediately worth dismissing.

Before we go any further, I want to make it perfectly clear that this is not an advertisement; I received this email blast just like thousands of other shooters across the U.S. And if I had to guess, most of you reading the announcement had similar ‘roller coaster’ type feelings that we did. “This is a great deal! But Hudson just filled for bankruptcy!”

During the days of IWA 2019, the French manufacturer Chapuis Armes revealed on their Facebook page that Beretta Holding Group had just become their majority shareholder.

Hudson Manufacturing, makers of the much-vaunted Hudson H9, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on March 14th. This is, presumably, in direct response to their previously cataloged troubles. Cambridge Valley Machining has sued Hudson over unpaid debts after being contracted to machine parts for them.

In 2018, Dick’s Sporting Goods halted sales of “ assault weapons” in all retail locations, citing the shooting at a high school in Parkland, Florida, as the reason for the move. The company also raised the purchase age of firearms to 21 and stopped selling “high capacity” magazines. Today, Dick’s will now end gun sales in 125 of their 700 total stores. Removing hunting rifles and ammunition, the only gun-related products remaining at the 125 effected stores, will make room for other “in demand” merchandise. The move apparently hurt stock prices as well as slumped a yearly profit forecast. At the time of this writing, the company had already removed hunting rifles and ammunition from ten locations.
