Taurus have announced the introduction of their full-size, polymer frame TS9. The pistol weighs in at 35.2oz unloaded, has a 4-inch barrel, is ambidextrous and comes with two 17-round magazines and  4 backstraps. MSRP for the new pistol is $499.99.

.357 Magnum revolvers are kind of like 1911 pistols – despite being obviously outdated and outclassed in many cases by modern concealed carry options, they’re still loved and carried by many. Taurus’ 605 Defender is one such .357 Magnum option that fits in this category and also comes in at a bargain street price of just $400 for the matte stainless version. Released in 2022, the Taurus 605 Defender has had a bit of time in the market to earn a reputation for being reliable, lightweight, and accurate, with a bit of an excessively heavy double-action trigger pull. The Taurus 605 Defender already comes standard with trench-style sights built into the frame with an orange faceted night front sight. XS Sights wanted me to give the revolver a go with their revolver front sight. Seeing as I haven’t shot any .357 Magnum in a while I figured this would be a fun dive back into defensive revolvers for me so here we go!

Hello and welcome back to another Edition of The Rimfire Report! This ongoing weekly series is all about the rimfire firearm world and its many different types of guns, ammunition, and history! Recently we’ve been looking at a lot of modern releases like the Bergara BMR and B14R, even the Taurus PT22 and there is another brand new 22LR semi-auto pistol that will be hitting the market soon! So in light of all the new stuff coming out, I wanted to take a gander back at one of the neatest, and maybe most useless types of handguns on the market – pocket-sized 22LR pistols, and in particular the Taurus PT22. The Taurus PT22 is a pocket-sized semi-automatic pistol that offers a compact and lightweight design, making it an ideal choice for concealed carry and personal protection – if you believe that 22LR is suitable for your needs in that department. Today, we will delve into the specifications and features of the Taurus PT22, discuss the suitability of the .22 LR cartridge for self-defense, share insights from range experiences, and ultimately figure out where it stands compared to similar firearms in its class.

Taurus is adding new limited edition color variants of the 856 Ultralite revolver. TFB has looked at some 856 models recently, including the optics-ready 856 TORO and 856 Defender models. But all of those versions were in fairly standard color schemes.

Taurus is expanding its line of TH pistols to include a .45 ACP model, the TH45. The TH designation comes from “Taurus Hammer” and this family of guns features an exposed hammer, double action/single action trigger mechanism, and polymer frame. Let’s take a look at its features.

Safariland has announced several new holster fitments of their Schema IWB rig. The Schema is a minimalist holster with a very low profile. It also boasts a minimalist price tag. Let’s see what new versions are being offered.

Taurus has just announced an essential safety notification regarding certain GX4 pistols that were assembled and sold exclusively within the United States. Taurus has recently discovered that under specific circumstances, these pistols may discharge when accidentally dropped. Taurus urges all GX4 owners to take this matter seriously and follow the instructions provided to ensure the safety of themselves and others. Welcome to another edition of TFB’s Wheelgun Wednesday! This week, we’ll take a detailed look at the Taurus 856 TORO revolver, which is an optics-ready model straight from the factory. The Taurus 856 was already a capable six-shot, small-frame revolver, but the optics-ready T.O.R.O. treatment adds more versatility for those that prefer red dots on their concealed carry weapon. As cool and trendy as red dot sights are on handguns, they can add a bit more complexity to set up, and we’ll take a look at the hiccup I had mating these two systems. Let’s dig in!

The new for 2023 Taurus Raging Hunter 10 in, aka the Raging Hunter 10.5″ (its actual barrel length) is a massive 5-shot .460 S&W magnum chambered revolver that weighs nearly 4.5 lbs.  Like most other .460 S&W magnum chambered revolvers, it can handle .45 Colt and .454 Casull as well.  Unlike other .460 revolvers, however, the new Taurus is actually comfortable to shoot repeatedly in any caliber.  I daresay it’s the most impressive factory .460 revolver I’ve yet to shoot in that regard.

This week on Wheelgun Wednesday, we’ll be taking a quick look at one of Taurus’ new revolvers for 2023 that we’re currently reviewing: the massive 10.5″, bipod and scope capable .460 Raging Hunter.  Taurus USA was kind enough to send us a review copy after we were intrigued by it at SHOT 2023.  While an in-depth review is in the works, here are our initial impressions and iron sight testing results of the new Taurus.

This week on TFB’s Wheelgun Wednesday, we’ll take a sneak peek at the brand-new Taurus 856 TORO revolver, which is an optics-ready revolver, driven with concealed carry and self-defense in mind. The aptly named “T.O.R.O.” in this case stands for Taurus Optics Ready Option, which was initially launched in 2021 with Taurus’ G3 semi-auto pistol. However, the TORO line has just been expanded to two of their small framed revolvers, the 856 and 605. Taurus was kind enough to lend me a copy of the model 856 TORO, which we’ll take a quick preview of today, with a full review coming in the near future.

Unveiled for the first time at SHOT Show 2023, Taurus is expanding their TORO (Taurus Optics Ready Option) lineup to include the 856 and 605 revolver. Taurus is also adding new revolver models to their Executive Grade lineup with the new Executive Grade Judge making its debut at this year’s show.

New for 2023, Taurus has added a compact variant to the TX22 lineup. The TX22 Compact has a standard capacity of 13 rounds and can directly mount an optic using the Holosun K footprint. It can also accept magazines from the full size TX22 and Competition, and retains the threaded barrel adapter for use with suppressors.

Shot Show Industry Day saw a lot of new Revolvers from Taurus.  Despite a gathering thunderstorm blowing into the area, we got to take some shots with these neat new wheelguns before lightning struck.  Let’s take an initial look at the lineup!

The Taurus TX22 has been one of the most successful 22LR pistol releases in the last couple of years. Since its release, the TX22 platform has seen the standard model, and competition model, and now is adding to the lineup with the all-new TaurusTX 22 Compact. The new compact 22LR pistol comes with 13 rounds of standard capacity, an optic-ready slide, and a suppressor-ready barrel which should give it a wide range of uses for rimfire enthusiasts.
