2017 IPSC Handgun World Shoot starts today
Today the Main Match for the 2017 IPSC Handgun World Shoot XVIII starts, at the new National Shooting Sport Center (CNTS) in Châteauroux, France.
MBX Extreme – Magpul CTR Stock Extension "Fang"
When I first had a quick look at the MBX “Fang” I thought it was a monopod, like the Accu-Shot, and thought why didn’t they make it adjustable? How do I go prone with this on my rifle?
R and R Targets – The Wright 12, new Shotgun
I know Robert Wright of R and R Targets since the World Shoot Shotgun 2012 (Debrecen, Hungary) where we stayed in the same hotel and competed. For a little more than a week we did our best to smash down steel targets and clays as fast as we could. I remember we had so many issues with the local ammunition, jamming ourselves through the match.
POTD: TFB Patch On the Official Swedish IPSC Shooting Team Jersey
Our own TFB writer Erik B. is a member and champion IPSC shooter on the Swedish National Team. Erik sent us this photo of the new team jersey with the important sponsors of the Swedish Team. It just so happens that the TFB patch was chosen as one displayed on the jersey. The TFB patch is in the center about half way down.
Kalashnikov Concern goes "Firearms Not Politics"
The first practical shooting Rifle World Championship will take place in “Patriot” park in Russia from May 25 to June 11, 2017. It is going to be a pretty large event with 850 shooters from 45 countries participating. However, some shooters faced a problem of not being able to bring their guns into Russia, because of sanctions against this country. That pretty much excludes these shooters from the competition and risks to ruin the event.
Kalashnikov Officially Releases the Pump Action KSZ-223 Rifle
Lately, they’ve been leaked images and videos of the Kalashnikov Concern’s new pump action rifle. We’ve covered all that information previously. Recently, the company has published an official news release and a video announcing the release of the KSZ-223 rifle. They’ve also uncovered more design details. So the information is now official, hence reliable. Without further ado, let’s watch the video first:
New Russian Competition Pistol called PE-10
Russian company “Souz TM” (a.k.a STM Arms) has introduced a new competition pistol called PE-10 (ПЕ-10). It is specially designed for practical shooting competition use – IPSC Standard division (major power factor). The pistol is chambered in .40 S&W with 17 round capacity. It feeds from CZ-75 ТS pistol magazines.
Bringing Virtual Reality Into Firearms Training
Let’s take “gaming” to a whole new level, shall we. Loke Uei Tan, a self proclaimed geek and USPSA shooter, spent a few months developing a virtual reality shooting simulator for the Oculus Rift. Dubbed the ‘Practisim VR’ the software’s goal is to provide competitive shooters with the ability to stay sharp in the off months when weather may make it impractical to train on a hot range
Plinker Dual Strike Pneumatic Targets
Plinker is an automated target company that is bringing to market a dual target system that can be swung into place and controlled off a electronic device. It works off of a pneumatic operated canister that propels the target frame into and out of place. The system is specifically designed for Law Enforcement application because it can replicate a Shoot-No Shoot scenario by first introducing a Shoot target with a firearm printed, and then introducing a No Shoot target with a hostage image printed on it. In addition, the system is really just a dual target holder, so it can really be used with any sort of target attached to frames that can be inserted into the target system. For an example anything fitting the dimensions of an IDPA target can be used if one wants to. From the description-
