[SHOT 2020] Historic Concealed Carry Weapons at the NRA Booth
By far the best thing at the SHOT 2020 NRA booth was the small display of historic concealed carry weapons suitably concealed at the rear of the booth, behind the recruitment desks. The interesting historic weapons are drawn from the NRA firearms museums’ collections.

Concealed Carry Corner: Carrying In Winter Months
Time has flown by and we are starting another winter cycle. Depending on how you feel about colder weather, you’re either excited to carry a larger firearm or you’re trying to figure out how to conceal carry with the extra layers. Now some people will be safe from the great northern cold. Everyone in Florida or Arizona will be safe from the struggles of layering up. Carrying in winter months can be a great thing for some people, but can also be challenging to others. Let’s dive into the challenging and positive aspects of carrying during the winter months.
Concealed Carry Corner: Legally Conceal Carry In California Without A License With This One Weird Trick
OK, so this isn’t about concealed carrying a straw. I just thought that photo was hilarious and so I used it. What is serious is trying to legally conceal carry in California. For those who do not know, California is a may-issue state. You have to jump through silly hoops required by your county Sheriff’s office and you have to explain why you want/need to conceal carry. They don’t like your reasoning? No concealed carry license for you. Well, now you can legally conceal carry in California without a CCW license with this one weird trick.
Mossberg Introduces MC1sc Stainless Two-Tone Pistols
We at TFB have followed Mossberg’s foray into the pistol market closely, we brought you the first news of the new MC1sc from SHOT 2019, I covered the historical precedent for Mossberg launching a pistol discussing their first ever firearm, the Brownie pistol, and we reviewed the new pistol too – Doc took a look and was pretty impressed, and so did JJ Reeves, he liked it too. Back in April Viridian introduced a laser sight for Mossberg MC1sc.
TFB's Best Summer Carry Guns – Something For Everyone
I recently polled the TFB Staff on what they would consider the Best Summer Carry Guns. After the usual focused expletives and suggestions of flashbangs and SIG Rattlers tucked away in backpacks, I started getting some serious answers. Obviously, with the summer heat comes the inability to conceal a pistol under jackets, sweaters and (gasp) fishing vests. So instead we turn to thinner and smaller guns that fit in pockets or appendix carry rigs. Below are some of the summer carry gun suggests from our top-notch writers. See if you can pick which staffer suggested each of the below guns. The first one to guess correctly in the comments section below gets a TFB patch.

CONCEALED CARRY CORNER: CCW Rules Of Engagement
The term “mindset”, when it comes to defensive situations, may be a bit cliche by now. The word draws images of a warrior in quiet contemplation, clicking carabiners while staring off into an infinite expanse. While that may be what I do every morning to prepare for that one defining, heroic moment that may never come (that’s a joke people), the ability to mentally prepare for a life or death situation is a skill that is infrequently practiced and rarely mastered. So let’s have a discussion about the CCW rules of engagement – a topic that will create more questions than we will find answers.
