Pulsar Unveils The Thermion 2 LRF XL50 1.75-14x 1024 HD Thermal Optic

Pulsar has announced its first HD-resolution thermal imaging rifle scope, the Thermion 2 LRF XL50 1.75-14x 1024 HD. The Lithuanian company promises a wide field of view and detailed images, even at 14x magnification, with built-in technology making it easier than ever to not only see your target but reach out and touch it as well.

The image generated with the Thermion 2 LRF XL50s 1024×768-pixel thermal HD sensor provides rich detail across the magnification range for uncompromised trophy identification. Varying spatial resolution, pixel pitch, and thermal sensitivity allow users to select settings particular to their needs and environment. With 1.75-14x magnification, hunters can achieve better overall object recognition at significant distances.

High-speed image processing, adjustable sensitivity amplification, and upgraded filtration algorithms allow operation in diverse weather and temperatures, separating objects from backgrounds under challenging lighting conditions.

Thermion 2 LRF XL50s large-format sensor claims a wide field of view for enhanced scanning and spotting at all magnifications. A germanium F50/1.0 objective lens expands the effectiveness of the HD sensor using aspherical lenses and diffractive optical elements for sharp and precise image projection across the entire sensor. A particularly interesting feature is the addition of ambidextrous focusing wheels accommodating left and right-handed shooters.

The Thermion 2 LRF XL50 features a seamlessly integrated compact rangefinder with a maximum ranging capability of 800 meters. Combined with an integrated ballistic calculator, sophisticated internal algorithms provide a precise point of aim for long-range accuracy. Upload a ballistic profile for your rifle and ammunition to the Thermion 2’s memory using the Stream Vision Ballistics App and you’re good to go.

 The included Pulsar BT wireless Bluetooth remote duplicates the functionality of the controls on the optic, allowing access to all necessary functions including fine adjustments and menu navigation. The remote is designed with button size and positioning in mind for both bare and gloved hands. With minimum movement needed to remote control scope settings, shooters can maintain concentration through the optic in any position convenient, such as the butt of the rifle if using a rear bag.

Now for the downside. This high-tech piece of kit comes with an MSRP of $7,999.97.
