Strike Industries has a new muzzle device for 9mm handguns with 1/2x28 threaded barrels. The new Strike Pistol Linear Compensator is advertised to redirect the concussive force and muzzle flash forward and keep the lens of the weapon-mounted lights clean. The Strike Pstol Linear Compensator is not a suppressor although it may look like one and Strike Industries say it can be a great prop alternative to suppressors.

Strike Industries @ TFB:

The Strike Industries Pistol Linear Compensator has a multi-piece design. It consists of the following parts: thread hub, one long body piece, three short body pieces, end cap, thread locking nut, and anti-rotation O-rings that are installed between each section. This modular design allows tuning the length of the Strike Pistol Linear Compensator.

The diameter of the Strike Pistol Linear Compensator is 1.1” and with all the sections installed, it’s 3.66” long. The overall weight of the full assembly is 1.87oz. When this muzzle device is in its longest/heaviest configuration, there may be a need to tune the recoil spring of the pistol. Here is what Strike Industries says:

“The Strike Pistol Linear Comp does exactly what it's designed to do. However, depending on the pistol platform the recoil guide rod spring may need to be tuned. This is due to the increased weight at the end of the barrel, which may cause a shift in the lock-up timing. Therefore, some trial and error may be needed.
During our testing, a G17/19 functioned well with an OEM recoil spring assembly when running the full length configuration of our Pistol Linear Comp. In order to run the full length while using all provided bodies, the guide rod may have to tuned with a different spring weight. Other pistol brands and their platforms' performance may also vary.”

The MSRP of the Strike Industries Pistol Linear Compensator is $89.95. At the moment of writing, it is available for preorder at a discounted price of $72. The estimated start of shipping is the end of September.
