In today’s episode of TFB’s Behind the Gun Podcast, we welcome Marvin from AMMJ to discuss his new commercial-grade Penumbra Laser Aiming Module (LAM) with night vision junkies Hop and BrassFacts. Unlike most of the current civilian LAMs restricted by FDA regulations, the Penumbra stands out with its slaved aiming lasers for precise calibration, an independently adjustable illuminator with a throw lever, and a machined aluminum housing with industry-standard mounting surfaces. It features a micro red dot, a versatile 3-position Aimpoint-compatible mount, and independent controls for laser and illuminator outputs. Marvin will also share the inspiration behind the Penumbra, the challenges in bringing it to market, and his future plans for this new take in the very narrow world of night vision aiming devices.
