Colt CZ Group, via its Colt subsidiary, has secured possession of the Mk 47 40mm Advanced Lightweight Grenade Launcher system, along with the Fire Control. The transaction comes from General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS). The Mk 47 is a portable 40mm grenade launcher designed for use in light infantry vehicles and tripod setups.

It’s a whole new year and optics manufacturers are ushering in new glass! Some of the newest offerings are the Vortex Venom 3-15x44mm FFP (First Focal Plane) and Vortex Venom 1-6x24mm SFP (Second Focal Plane). This expands out the Venom family of optics to 3 selections now bridging the gap from Low Powered Variable Optics (LPVO) all the way up to high magnification options in the original 5-25x option.

The Czech entrepreneur Michal Strnad’s company Czechoslovak Group (CSG), now holds the majority stake in Armi Perazzi, a renowned Italian manufacturer specializing in shotguns for trap shooting and hunting. Established in 1957 by Daniele Perazzi and currently led by his descendants, Mauro and Roberta Perazzi, the company’s guns have contributed to winning 62 Olympic medals across 11 Olympics.

Taurus has been putting much effort into broadening its options throughout the US handgun market. With great introductions like the Taurus GX4 in the micro compact category, and the earlier release of the similar TH45 chambered in 45 ACP, it’s only natural that Taurus has now made the decision to finally make their very first 10mm handgun – the TH10. This new double-action/single-action polymer frame handgun features a combination de-cocker/safety so that you can carry the handgun “cocked and locked,” or de-cocked in DA mode with the safety off.

The Aimpoint red dot sights probably need no introduction to our readers. It’s just over a year since I reviewed the new Aimpoint Duty RDS, and now it seems that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has come to the same conclusion as myself – it’s a high-quality red dot, priced competitively and you should buy one. The FBI just awarded Aimpoint with a five-year contract, with a maximum amount of $7 million for the  Duty RDS sight. The larger format CompM4s red dot sight was awarded a $4 million contract.

The Colt CZ Group has announced a deal to acquire Czech ammunition manufacturer Sellier & Bellot. This marks Colt CZ Group’s latest acquisition and their continued expansion in the small arms sector. The deal is worth more than $350 million and sees Colt CZ Group acquire the ammunition manufacturer in full while Sellier & Bellot’s parent company CBC Europe will take a 27% stake in Colt CZ Group. CBC bought Sellier & Bellot in 2009.

I’ve recently been digging pretty heavily into survival rifle coverage on my weekly Rimfire Report series. Along with 22LR, a .410 bore is often found being used in survival rifles including the new Rossi survival rifle dubbed the Poly Tuffy. This new single-shot, break-action .410-bore survival rifle features a simple and durable design that stores spare ammo, has a minimally stacked single-action trigger, and of course, breaks down for better storage.

Beretta has launched the new 92XI Squalo Pistol. Building upon the foundation of the Beretta 92X series, this firearm boasts the X-treme S single-action only and flat-faced trigger, featuring performance DLC coated trigger components and a lightweight skeletonized hammer. These enhancements are said to provide a crisp trigger pull, with the added option of going cocked and locked.

Heritage Manufacturing may be known for their rimfire revolvers, but they are becoming a full-spectrum cowboy firearm provider. The new Badlander shotgun is a classic side-by-side scattergun right out of the Wild West. It joins the Settler lever action and Rancher revolving rifle in the new family of Heritage-made long guns.

Geissele Automatics announced today on Instagram that the Super Duty rifle won an LAPD contract for the SWAT and Tactical Surveillance Teams. LAPD SWAT has used the HK416 for several years, but it seems those days are ending. Let’s see what this new gun has to offer.

Strike Industries has just unveiled their new SMC BRAVO Chassis for SIG P320 pistols, which allows much more modularity than a stock pistol. For those not familiar with the SIG P320 pistol series, a major design feature is that the serialized Fire Control Unit (FCU) allows the trigger group to be swapped into various grip moduals and used with various sized slides as well. The SMC BRAVO Chassis is the second such offering from Strike Industries, with the ALPHA being the first. However, the BRAVO is described as being the “lite” version, which will normally be listed at $129.95 compared the ALPHA which was released last year for $549.95. Ever wanted a G3-pattern rifle with the familiar controls of an AR? Ever wished your AR-10 could feed from G3 mags? Well, 21st TEC have you covered with their TEC-GIII. The rifle is available in both 6.5 Creedmoor and .308 Winchester, weighs in at 8.5 lbs, has 20in barrels and feeds from 20-round G3 mags. MSRP for the TEC-GIII, in both 6.5 Creedmoor and .308 Win, is $1,499.

Armasight has announced the  Sidekick 640 Mini Thermal Monocular, intended for handheld use or helmet mounting. The thermal sensor is 12 micron, 640 pixels, 60 Hz, which is displayed on a 1024×768 OLED display. The user interface is through a three-button control, and the display can run several color palettes. The unit is light, only 384 grams, and uses a composite body. In terms of connectivity, there’s a USB-C interface for external power. There’s also a compass and an internal video recording and image capture function.

Earlier this year NIOA acquired Barrett Firearms and now they are looking to expand their reach in the US by taking up a tenancy at the US Army’s Picatinny Arsenal which is home to the Army’s Joint Centre of Excellence for ammunition and weapons.

It might seem like a joke at first but this new product from XTech is actually pretty handy for a few reasons. The XTech MTX+0 doesn’t add any ammunition to your standard 10-round factory magazines, but it does add grip length to make the gun a lot easier to shoot for those with larger hands. Previously the only way to get a better grip on a P365 was to get an aftermarket or factory X or XL frame. Now instead of spending hundreds on a new frame, you can add some grip length for just $15 with the new MTX 365 +0 Magazine Extension. The +0 means that these new mag extensions are 50-state legal.

The reloading world is constantly expanding despite several upsets over the decades that have left many wanting for components like primers and projectiles. Now that things seem to more or less be going back to normal in terms of availability of components, it’s nice that Hodgdon released the new Hodgdon 2024 Annual Manual. This yearly release contains some of the most up-to-date information for new pistol and rifle loads, as well as updates to older loads to accommodate for new selections in projectiles and powder.
