Well, let’s start with the good news: “A new HK product is available on the civilian market!” and… it’s a knife. Or maybe, more correctly, 3/4 of a knife, as it appears to be lacking proper handle scales… however, we’ve seen worse in terms of product releases from the brand.

The Pachmayr company has just released six new knives with varied styles and functions.  They are already well-known for making firearms accessories and grips.  While these new knives aren’t the first venture into Pachmayr’s knife production, it’s quite an expansion with a wide variety of options.  You can read their press release below:

It’s again one of those times of the year when the Desert Eagle’s eggs hatch. Again, as per tradition, the livery of the newborns shows a certain degree of boldness. Overall, the black and gold combination we have here appears somewhat less aggressive than other options. Definitely,  Magnum Research knows the tastes of its customer base, and our very own HGFC series shows that the OEM still has better judgment.

The Security-9 is a recent model from  Ruger offering an affordable option for CCW, with some rather common features and some peculiarities such as the SAO action. Those who like the pistol but would prefer upgraded ergonomics, would be pleased to know that Hogue has just released a grip sleeve dedicated to the Security-9.

North Carolina-based High Speed Gear have confirmed that they have been contracted to provide Heckler & Koch with more than 30,000 of their TACO magazine pouches as part of Heckler & Koch’s fulfilment of the Army squad designated marksman rifle contract. The pouches will likely also be issued along with the new Compact Semiautomatic Sniper System as both the CSASS and SDMR are based on HK’s M110A1 (HK417-based) rifle.

JDI Firearms/SAN Imports have become the US importers of PGM Precision’s line of precision and sniper rifles. PGM Precision are one of France’s last major manufacturers of sniper rifles, producing the Hécate series used by the French military.

Daniel Defense have announced that their DDM4V7 has been selected by the law enforcement division of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The law enforcement division of the TPWD will purchase 700 rifles which will become the division’s new service carbine. The TPWD is a state agency that oversees and protects Texas’ wildlife in the state’s parks and historical areas. Its law enforcement division not only act as game wardens but are also fully-empowered police officers.

We at TFB have followed Mossberg’s foray into the pistol market closely, we brought you the first news of the new MC1sc from SHOT 2019, I covered the historical precedent for Mossberg launching a pistol discussing their first ever firearm, the Brownie pistol, and we reviewed the new pistol too – Doc took a look and was pretty impressed, and so did JJ Reeves, he liked it too. Back in April Viridian introduced a laser sight for Mossberg MC1sc.

Ruger has just announced special limited availability 10/22 rifles.  The 10/22 rifle is well recognized, respected and quite common in the realm of .22 rifles.  This particular offering has a few upgrades that come as standard, such as a scope base and an extended magazine release.  As seen in the title photo, there’s also the choice between grey or charcoal colored stocks.

Dan Wesson have announced a new Dan Wesson Tactical Compact Pistol, describing the pistol as having “great conceal-ability and superior accuracy in a nimble 1911.” Originally introduced in mid-2018, the TCP is available in 9x19mm and .45 ACP with both alloy framed pistols weighing in at 32oz.

Starline Brass has added a new cartridge case to their brass offerings with the unveiling of .350 Legend now being available for handloaders. The .350 Legend cartridge was introduced less than a year ago at SHOT Show 2019, but it already has gained quite a bit of traction by being more stout than a traditional .30-30 Winchester round and being accepted in many AR-15 platforms. American Defense Manufacturing have announced that Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, in Louisiana, have selected American Defense Mfg.’s .308 UIC10 rifle. What role the new rifles will have has not been announced but the rifle’s calibre suggests it may be used as a sharpshooter/marksman’s rifle.

SIG Sauer have announced that Milwaukee Police Department will transition to using the P320 in 9x19mm as their official duty pistol. The P320 will replace the Smith & Wesson M&P .40 S&W which has been in use since 2009.

Kimber has announced that they are finally shipping some of their newest variations of 1911 models in the KHX and Aegis Elite in both Optics Installed (OI) and Optics Ready (OR) offerings. These models were introduced in late 2018 and early 2019, but most of the general public got their first eyes on them from SHOT Show 2019. According to Kimber, their quality control has finally flipped the green light to let shooters begin fondling these masterpieces.

It is a little known fact that Ruger is approaching their 70th Anniversary of providing the world with quality firearms for all of us to enjoy. To help revel in that celebration and keep the good times rolling, CCI has teamed up with Ruger to create a limited-edition run of rimfire ammunition. It will not be available until some time this fall, but for all of the Ruger faithfuls out there it is something to look forward to. We at TFB have been closely following the progress of the Modular Handgun System since the US Military launched its search for a new service pistol. Since the SIG Sauer P320’s selection back in January 2017, the pistol has undergone continuing evaluation and a steadily increasing roll-out to US combat troops and has begun to be fielded by other branches including the US Marine Corps and US Air Force.

The POF-USA Revolution .308 AR10 patterned rifle has won the 2019 Rifle of the Year award from the Firearms Industry Choice Awards. Details on the announcement and the award can be found below.

Ruger have announced the introduction of a new Ruger Custom Shop 1911, in .45 ACP, joining the SR1911 in 9mm. The pistols use Koenig Shooting Sports’ low-mass hammer and competition sear, flat-faced match trigger shoe, precision-machined Cylinder & Slide disconnector. The pistols have forged slide stops, and hand-tuned sear springs. They have a stainless steel frame with a black nitride finish and a hand-polished, stainless and black nitrided slide.

We here at TFB have been following the P365 XL since news of its launch broke back in May. Well, we can now confirm that SIG Sauer’s latest pistol is now shipping. The P365 XL has a longer barrel, frame and slide but retains the original P365’s grip size adding only 1/2 inch to the height of the gun. The new pistol’s barrel is 0.6in longer than the standard P365’s and its frame also has a slightly elongated beavertail for improved ergonomics. It feeds from a 12 round magazine for a 12+1 capacity (15 round extended magazines are also available) and chambers 9x19mm.

Leupold recently reported that the United States Marshals Service has selected their DeltaPoint Pro pistol red dot sight.  It will also be paired with the Dawson Precision sights and interchangeable plate.  According to several forums (example HERE), the Marshals Service has allowed red dot sights on personally owned pistols for some time already.  However, it seems that a more formally issued standard may be forthcoming.  Leupold had the following to say in their press release:
