It’s been laid out on the table during rifle issue for Lima Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, in July 2022. Here the recruits are issued their M16A4 service rifle, the one that will be their responsibility for the rest of recruit training.

Good shoes take you to good places, and apart from underwear, are probably the most important part of any EDC, Every Day Carry.

There’s a lot of action in today’s Photo Of The Day, with the CZ Bren 2 at the playgrounds of NATO’s enhanced Forward Presence Battle Group Latvia. Almost three years ago, the Czech Army decided they will be using CZ Bren 2 as their standard-issue rifle, and here they let their NATO friends try it out to the fullest.

Above you see a Republic of Korea Marine with his Daewoo rifle at the Colonel Ernesto Ravina Air Base, in the Philippines. He provides security during a live-fire range on KAMANDAG 6, October 2022. The Republic of Korea Marine Corps (ROKMC) is the marine corps of South Korea.

Our daily article Photo Of The Day will take you to some very exciting and unusual places sometimes. Today we have the C-17 Globemaster III together with U.S. Air Force aircrew from the 535th Airlift Squadron at the Pacific Missile Range Facility Barking Sands, in Hawaii. Above you can spot  U.S. Marine from the 3d Littoral Combat Team, 3d Marine Littoral Regiment, 3d Marine Division as he provides security.

TFB’s Photo Of The Day and here we are with one of the hottest pistol caliber carbines on the market, the B&T SPC9. Merging the best from the AR15 platform with the best from the H&K MP5 and the B&T APC9 together in one product, it’s probably as good as it gets for now. Until the suppressor was added, to increase the attraction further.

In the beginning of this year, TFB’s Nick C had a closer look at the POF-USA Phoenix PCC. For this Photo Of The Day, we have some photos where I think POF-USA really pushed it and produced some really interesting images of the Phoenix 9mm pistol. I have to admit I had forgotten all about it, which is a shame as I really like its looks and design. An 8″ barrel covered by a monolithic M-LOK handguard is pretty cool – and I want one now!

Have you taken your vitamins today? As you know vitamins have several important functions for your body. Some say vitamins are almost as important as a daily dose of TFB’s Photo Of The Day, and we agree of course. Today we recommend the blue pill. So here’s today’s dose of pictures, but instead of magnesium, iron, calcium and Omega 3, there’s a stunningly beautiful rimfire rifle from the Italian company Victrix Armaments. The rifle is called Venus V Small Bore, here in Orobic-blue.

Photo Of The Day and we have the Special Support Unit (SSU) of Bosnia-Herzegovina State Investigation Protection Agency (SIPA) with the 10th Special Forces Group green berets in an exercise called Brutalist Tornjak. These Special Forces assault their objective after arriving in a UH-1 Huey in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Our  Photo Of The Day articles collects some of the most eye-catching and visually appealing images. You won’t find a lot of pictures of sunsets, flowers or touristic landmarks around here. This is more about soldiering, firearms, special units, snipers and the odd knife or two. Today we focus on the excellent handcrafted holster made by Diamond D Custom Leather, a company based in Wasilla, Alaska. The Alaska Hunter Hip Holster sells for $120.00, preferably paired with the Alaska Hunter Drop Loop and they’re made in the US of A.

Photojournalism is the process of storytelling using the medium of photography as your main storytelling device. While a journalist will use their pen and paper to tell stories, a photojournalist will use their camera to capture the visual representation of a story. This Photo Of The Day captures soldiers of Slovenian Special Forces with full gear including a ballistic helmet with night vision goggles, FN SCAR rifle with EOTech sights and a sidearm from Glock.

Photo Of The Day and we have a very smoky shot of an Army M2A3 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle as it fires its main gun, the 25mm M242 chain gun. The Bradley carries 900 rounds for it. It also has a coaxially mounted M240C machine gun with 2,200 rounds of 7.62 NATO. The A3 version also has a totally digital electronics system for target acquisition and fire control, navigation, and other situational awareness. This includes a thermal-aided target tracker from FLIR to aid the anti-tank TOW missiles.

Photo Of The Day and we have a great picture of the YKMF-5 9mm AR Side Charging Pistol made by QC10. As you can see, it has been designed for 9x19mm MP5 magazines. The upper and lower have been milled from billet 7075-T6, with Type III hard coat anodizing. The barrel is a QC10 5.5” 9mm, with a Dead Air Silencers Micro Brake. The handguard is a 4.25″ Bowden Tactical and the brace is an SB Tactical PDW. The total weight is 5.14 lbs. The price is $1,775.

Photo Of The Day: Life without the Internet, how would it be? How would you make it? You certainly wouldn’t be able to see these images of United Kingdom Royal Marines from 45 Commando, together with U.S. Army Green Berets from the 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne). They’re providing security before entering a building during close-quarter battle training at Grafenwöhr Training Area, in Germany.

The year 2022 started with a bang and TBF’s Photo Of The Day has never been so diversified. Today we have Lantac UK‘s picture of their Battle Raven LA-M4, which is said to be using completely new alloys that deliver a 14% strength gain combined with an 8% weight loss. Overall it’s a very good-looking rifle, but I’m a little concerned about the minimal space between the suppressor and the handguard. The Magpul UBR is a great stock, but perhaps not the lightest of them all.

Photo Of The Day where we once again let the machine gun do the talking. We see a Belgian Armed Forces soldier as he engages the enemy during a dynamic display. This happened during Exercise Iron Wolf 22 at Pabradė Training Area, in Lithuania, in October 2022.

There are very few vehicles that are worthy of being shown in TFB’s Photo Of The Day, but the Glickenhaus 008 Fast Response Military Vehicle certainly fits in very well. The vehicle is a concept by Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, based on the Glickenhaus 008 “Build your own racecar for the road”. The company is founded by James Glickenhaus, who is an American film producer (The Exterminator (1980)) and automotive entrepreneur.

Photo Of The Day and we have some rare photos of Republic of Korea Special Warfare Command (RoK SWC) service members together with Green Berets from the 3rd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne). They’re pulling security after conducting an attack against an objective. This happened during an exercise at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, California in July 2022.

Photo Of The Day: Just a few months ago Smith & Wesson announced the release of M&P9 M2.0 METAL. The pistol features an optics-ready T6 Aluminum frame in a Tungsten Gray Cerakote finish. Externally it’s similar to its polymer counterpart with full compatibility with standard M&P9 M2.0 slides, magazines, palm swells and holsters. In this POTD you can find a few images not available at the release.

Our Photo Of The Day can be anything related to firearms, and sometimes – but very rarely – we extend the topic beyond that. Over the years, we have covered a vast number of firearms, soldiers and armies around the world. Today we have a Rocket Launch on the menu. Above you can see soldiers fire an M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System. This happened during Exercise Dynamic Front 2022 in the Grafenwoehr Training Area, Germany, in July 2022.

The FN F2000 made its debut in 2001. Designed by FN Herstal in Belgium, it is a bullpup rifle chambered in 5.56×45mm NATO. It never looked so compact before as in the Photo Of The Day above. The F2000 S is a version modified for the Slovenian Army, and it has an elevated upper Picatinny rail. Apart from acting as a mount for the red dot and the magnifier, the rail also doubles as a carrying handle.

The number of internet users worldwide will soon reach the 5-billion mark. Our world has never been so connected. Great photos can spread like wildfire, but the story and the necessary context sometimes gets left behind. Not in TFB’s Photo Of The Day where we will always accompany the images with a background and credits to the maker. In the image above you can see a homage to “Slava Ukraini” (Glory to Ukraine) as a reference to the Ukrainian farmers towing off abandoned Russian tanks. This stage of the Danish International Sniper Competition (DISC) 2022 looks seriously difficult!

Photo Of The Day: You know we’re always on the lookout for the best photographers and firearms-related images. The goal is to give your eyes something worth watching every day, and today we have a combination of Royal Navy Commandos and their swarm of drones.

Welcome back to our Photo Of The Day! If you haven’t shot the back-to-basics VZ-58 rifle, I can tell you that it sends the brass just as pictured here – kind of straight up, and with brute force to a place far, far away. Don’t try to bump fire one with a cap on, because the cap will only catch the flying brass and direct it to your face. Don’t ask me how I know, and follow us for more advice like this.

We’re always on the lookout for the best firearms-related images out there and today we get some help from B&T USA. They have dressed up their APC9 and its three-lug with an SQD suppressor.  I’m very happy to own two APC9s, which I bought about ten years ago (in Europe), long before they came into fashion and became available in the US market. I’ve used one of them extensively for PCC and Steel Challenge target shooting and practicing with pretty good results.
