Man Drinking Crown Royal Whilst Cleaning Sand from his Gun Shoots Woman on Florida Beach

What a title for an article. In this edition of “Just Florida Things,” a woman was relaxing on the beach in Panama City, Florida when she was suddenly shot in the knee by a man who was cleaning sand out of his gun on a balcony above. The man, Damien Chhoeung, was arrested and his bail was set at $10,000. The woman who was shot was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. She is expected to make a full recovery.

Concealed Carry Corner: Levels Of Carry Guns

Welcome back to another edition of Concealed Carry Corner. Last week, we took a look at whether it’s better to be self-taught or start off by taking training. Both had their perks and it was a great conversation in the comments so thank you to everyone who left their thoughts in the comment section. If you happened to miss last week’s article, be sure to click the link here. Recently I’ve heard a number of people say they don’t want to carry a concealed firearm because it’s too expensive to get set up. I think it’s a common misconception to think it costs a huge amount of money to get set up as a concealed carrier. Let’s take a closer look at some levels of carry guns.

New 35mm High One-Piece Scope Mount from MDT

One-piece scope mounts with integrated rings simplify the mounting process. They’re often more durable,  weigh less, and this virtually guarantees you performance under the harshest conditions. MDT has just announced the introduction of its own 35mm one-piece scope mount for use with higher magnification optics with large objective lenses. The high mount should give you the additional clearance you need to mount your optic to your preferred rifle, while also taking up minimal rail space.

Drivers Side Safe Released by the Headrest Safe Company

There are times when I need to leave my vehicle in some less-than-ideal locations. I don’t leave my gun in my car, but I still feel uneasy about leaving documentation or other valuables in my car for too long. I drive an older car, so many of the built-in vehicle safes aren’t compatible. However, there’s another option. The Headrest Safe Company makes aftermarket headrests with built-in safes for keeping your valuables secure and hidden. They were previously only available for the passenger side, but they can now be had for the driver’s side seat.

There have been a fair number of people interested in getting their concealed carry license but get anxious about taking a class for the first time. Many have said it’s best to go out and shoot on your own first while others preach to get training first so you learn to shoot correctly. Let’s take a closer look at self-taught vs professional training.

TFB Weekly Web Deals 55: Independence Day Roundup

Welcome to TFB Weekly Web Deals 55! Tomorrow is Independence Day, so on behalf of everyone at TFB and TFBTV, Happy Independence Day! While this day is about celebrating the birth of our great nation, it’s also an excellent opportunity to take stock of everything we have because of not just the founding of this country, but the great people who came before us who have helped forge it into the best nation on this planet. Our founding fathers would have been unable to help instigate such a founding were it not for the arms, ammunition, and skilled gunsmiths they had around then. While the principles and purpose of the 2nd Amendment have not changed, the arms, ammunition, and gunsmiths have and we’re fortunate today to have access to some of the most cutting-edge firearms technology available on the planet, partially due to the fact that our access to arms is baked right into our nations constitution. In honor of that, and as is our custom here at TFB, let’s help celebrate our nation’s birth by sharing some great deals we’ve found for arms, ammunition, and gear in TFB Weekly Web Deals 55.

TFB Weekly Web Deals 54: Launch Early on Independence Day Deals

As we gear up for Independence Day this year, let’s stop and take a minute to be thankful for this great country we have – specifically because of arms. There is an interesting quote that floats around on the internet that I often like to think of when it comes to the very core concept of the 2nd Amendment: “God made men, Sam Colt made them equal.” This quote, even though it was part of a marketing campaign, just reaffirms the idea that, at least in this country, firearms are one of the key concepts of maintaining one’s freedom regardless of what type of life you’re born into. Finding and buying affordable arms and ammunition used to be a heavy investment, usually involving going to a local gun show or perhaps even a county gun show. Fast forward to today and we’ve got more options than you can count in terms of places you can buy arms and ammunition for relatively decent prices. So in the spirit of 1776, and the founding of this great nation, we’re going to be taking a look at a bunch of deals from around the net that are popping up in anticipation of this year’s Independence Day celebration.

Flying with a firearm is one of those things that most aren’t willing to do because they feel like it’s either too difficult or just not worth it when traveling. Over the last few years, I have flown a number of times commercially with a firearm, along with just recently private as well which is certainly a completely different experience. Let’s take a closer look at how to fly with your carry gun.

TFB Weekly Web Deals 53: Can You Ever Have Enough?

Welcome to TFB Weekly Web Deals 53! This week’s selection of deals is expected to be fairly standard since we’re in between the usual big sales. However, in the course of writing for TFB, I still find that I continue to buy more and more firearms purely out of curiosity, as well as in the pursuit of specific projects for TFB. That led me to thinking if my collection will ever stop growing? I certainly sell firearms I don’t use anymore or simply don’t want, but even with those sales, the number continues to swell. Do you guys think your collection will ever reach a limit or will you just let it grow as your interests continue to grow and new firearms continue to be released?
