Well, this week we revisit our friends at Gibbous Outfitters and see what they have come up with now. Gibbous Outfitters upgrade the MP5K, the infamous MP5 briefcase, along with some unexpected upgrades for other weapon systems.

Well, today might be even more rare and obscure. The Optics 1 ECOSI (Enhanced Clip-On SWIR Imager) is a device that some have heard of but very few have seen in person let alone seen what it can do. The ECOSI can see a wavelength of light that is very difficult to see, it can see SWIR.

Well, today we take a look at a laser aiming module of the same vintage. Circa 2003 NVEC Inc came out with the ATILLA-200 laser/illuminator.

Two weeks ago Gregory Knowles posted some photos from what looks like an industry convention. They were photos from what appears to be a Thales booth showcasing their new QNVG (Quad Night Vision Goggles).

Thanks to my friend Vic for letting me know about this. MK Machining is a well-known producer of 3D printed items as well as a cool bullpup chassis for the Remington 700. They produce a lot of products for other companies but they do make their own products such as their PVS-30 night vision fin.

A new kind of face appears on the battlefield, as soldiers use the ENVG III night vision device. It’s interesting to see it mounted outside a gas mask, but train as you fight I guess. This Photo Of The Day was taken at the Goldmine Training Area in South Korea last month. The caption reads:

The Israeli arms market is one that has grown exponentially in a number of ways over the last couple of decades. Today we’re going to take a look at the Meprolight TRU-VISION red dot sight to see how well it performs out in the field, and how well the optic adheres to its stated claims on the Meprolight website.

UNITY Tactical has released a new product, this time for the B.E. Meyers MAWL laser. UNITY Tactical’s RAXIS is an in-line mount to reposition a MAWL so the laser is no longer offset. The RAXIS is a simple off-angle rail with the right geometry.

AGM Global Vision presents the new Neith Digital Night Vision Scopes. According to AGM, it’s the optimal solution for budget-conscious hunters, with a desire to begin with night hunting. The display has full color during the day and black & white at night. Additional features include an integrated IR illumination, built-in video recording, detachable and rechargeable 18650 batteries, and the American Defense MFG (ADM) QD mount so you can attach it to your firearm. The camera sensor uses a 2560×1440 ultra-low light optical detector, which is displayed on a 1920×1080 OLED display inside the ocular. Thanks to the built-in long-range IR illuminator the detection range is claimed to be up to 400 meters. The AGM Neith DS32-4MP sells for $879.00, and the AGM Neith DC32-4MP costs $989.00.

This week we will take a look at something that has caught the attention of some people – the SiOnyx OPSIN helmet-worn digital night vision device. A lot of people have been asking for an OPSIN review so let’s dive in.

Armasight, a manufacturer of night vision optics, thermal imagers, and illumination devices, has just released a new IR illuminator. The Armasight Watchman IR illuminator can be handheld or weapon mounted, runs on either a single 18650 rechargeable battery or two CR123 lithium batteries, and has a high output of 600 mW. The package includes a weapon mount, tape switch, and an 18650 battery.

The IWA exhibition in Germany is usually where Pulsar release their thermal front attachments, and this year is no exception. There is a new flagship model called Krypton 2 FXG50 with a thermal sensor of 640×480 pixels @12 µm. According to Pulsar, this device can detect a standard 1.8 m tall object at an extra-long 2300-meter distance in complete darkness, which will be displayed on the full-HD multicolor 1920×1080 pixel screen.

Pulsar Vison releases a long list of new thermals at IWA Outdoors in Nuremberg, Germany. The Pulsar Telos LRF XP50 is the first model in the new Telos series, using a European-made Lynred sensor that features 640×480 pixel resolution with 17 microns pixel pitch. But, apart from the design, the coolest thing is the NETD thermal sensitivity below 18 millikelvin, which is the lowest I’ve ever seen on a commercial device. The lower the value, the better the sensitivity.

Last year EOTech started offering their own line of night vision and thermal imaging devices, and this year they are introducing their first ever Laser Aiming Module: the OGL or “On-Gun-Laser.” The OGL is a relatively compact and lightweight multifunction aiming laser, with a VCSEL infrared illuminator, and coaligned IR laser designator and visible laser.
