If you’re late to the train to join the Springfield Armory Hellcat bandwagon, you can still punch your ticket and join in on the fun with a new iteration that Springfield Armory has announced this week. The new Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro OSP Threaded in a Desert FDE colorway has all the bells and whistles to trick it out to your liking and make it ready for your style of everyday carry.

Months ago I was able to check out the Haley Strategic and Safariland IncogX. The new holster meant for the Glock 19 pistol originally, was always meant to have more fits and today Safariland has announced that the IncogX can now host the SIG Sauer P365 X-Macro. The P365 X-Macro was introduced about a year ago and is the highest capacity evolution of the P365 lineup of micro-compact 9mm pistols. The IncogX is an updated version of the previous iteration of the original Incog IWB holster, with the new holster featuring a new suede outer coating, and an adjustable wedge for improved concealment.

I was assured when I started carrying my guns in an appendix inside the waistband (AIWB) holster, that I would promptly shoot myself in a very important area. Four years later, I am happy to report that I remain completely intact and a moderate proponent of AIWB carry. My current AIWB holster for my GLOCK 45 MOS with RMR and a full-size SureFire X300 Ultra weapon light has been my favorite for more than a year. But today we are going to take a look at the new Safariland INCOGX IWB holster system, a collaboration with Haley Strategic Partners. How does the new Safariland INCOGX stack up? Let’s take a look.

I get a fair amount of questions about easy drills to do with little to no materials. Let’s take a closer look at some simple conceal carry range drills.

If you are of the concealed carry crowd, you know how important it is to have a lot of options in the way of holsters. I, personally, only have 2 – 3 handguns in rotation for concealed carry (depending on the day’s tasks and my outfit) yet I probably have 30+ holsters. So, that is why it is always good news to hear manufacturers coming out with more and more fits for common, popular handguns. One of the newest offerings to hit the CCW market are additional fits for the Blackhawk Stache line of Inside-the-Waistband (IWB) holsters which can now accommodate the Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro and SIG Sauer P365 X-Macro.

SIG Sauer has been upping their game with the P365 by creating a multitude of variants for shooters and CCW lovers to pick from. Whether you want the original, plain-Jane model or a jazzed up version like the P365 X-Macro, SIG has options. To compliment this bevy of pistols, Galco has expanded their portfolio of holster options as well. Now, you can get the  Galco Scout 3.0 Strongside/Crossdraw IWB holster for your SIG Sauer P365 whether it has a micro red dot mounted on top of it or not.

This week, I wanted to talk about the increase in full-metal construction handguns on the market over the last few years. While heavier carry guns do offer a few advantages, they are by no means perfect. This week, I wanted to talk about a training I did with some local trainers about handgun manipulation in tight spaces. They went through how to properly draw a firearm from retention as well as how to clear rooms with less-than-ideal entryways. Let’s take a closer look at the answer to the question “Is retention shooting a good idea?”.

A common anti-Second Amendment talking point is that the Founding Fathers couldn’t possibly have imagined the evolution that firearms have seen since they had a key role in founding the United States. Of course, we know that to be untrue, due to the letter written to Congress in 1777 by Joseph Belton. In this letter, one of the most exciting promises made was that eight rounds could be fired one after another without reloading. At the time, even an experienced rifleman could take 10 or more seconds before delivering another ball. These days, that problem has been alleviated with the use of box magazines, and centuries of combined shooting knowledge passed down from the greats. I am not one of these greats, so I won’t pretend that I can make you better, but these are some defined steps that may help you round out your pistol reload.
