Welcome back to another edition of Concealed Carry Corner. Last week, we talked about overcoming flight or flight impulses like tunnel vision and auditory exclusion. If you missed that article, be sure to check it out by clicking on the link here. This week, I wanted to talk about something relatively important when it comes to carrying concealed. We oftentimes can get so much out of dry firing but working on those skills at home only do so much. It really takes getting out to the range to practice all the skills together to become proficient. Ammo prices are thankfully coming down so I figured I would add my absolute favorite drills at the moment when it comes to helping train concealed carriers. Let’s take a closer look at some great concealed carry shooting drills.

Let’s take a closer look at overcoming fight or flight.

[EnforceTac 2023] H&K's First Micro Compact 9mm: The SFP9CC!

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves is at EnforceTac in Nuremberg Germany on February 28, 2023 to see the public unveiling of the impressive, first “one and a half stack” micro compact 9mm handgun from Heckler & Koch: The SFP9CC. This Heckler & Koch pistol will compete directly with pistols like the SIG P365 and Springfield Hellcat. The pistol will be very similar to the successful VP9 series of pistols. The SFP9CC will have a modular chassis, meaning that the fire control unit will bear the serial number, and the operator can swap frames and slides without having to buy another “gun” in the legal sense. The end user can buy one “gun” and then swap frames, slides, and grip panels. At launch, the slides available will be optics-ready and iron-sights-only versions. The two launch frames will both be sized to fit flush with 10+1 round 9mm magazines, but one will have a Picatinny rail and one will not. There will also be six backstraps to choose from: small, medium, or large in beavertail and non-beavertail configurations. This is one of the most exciting pistols to come from H&K in a long time, so make sure you watch the video and make sure to subscribe to TFBTV Show Time to see the rest of the content from EnforceTac and IWA.

After a few months and a decent amount of ammo through the gun, I now feel confident talking more about its performance so far. Let’s take a closer look at the Beretta APX A1 Optics Bundle.

Welcome back to this week’s edition of Concealed Carry Corner. Last week we talked about the importance of ammo versus buying accessories. If you happened to miss that, be sure to click the link to check it out here. This week is a rather interesting topic I’ve somewhat touched on but have not dove into like we will today. He sent me a very long message about how unfair the situation was but he made some fairly large mistakes. I think this is a fantastic situation to look closer at some of the dangers of carrying concealed.

TFB Review: Mystery Ranch Forager Hip Pack

I am 100% in agreement with James Reeves that there are times when Fanny Pack Carry is the superior option.  For some, it may have more to do with warm weather/light clothing considerations, such as at the beach or the gym, but for me, it has more to do with when I’m wearing voluminous layers of clothing to guard against nasty weather. It’s hard to draw a handgun from my duck hunting coat, or from under longer rain gear.  To that point, when I was headed up to southeast Alaska to do a lot of fishing and hiking in bear territory, I decided to get a new fanny pack in which to carry my Glock 20.  One of the best options for a handgun that big was the Mystery Ranch Forager.

Concealed Carry Corner: If I Was Stuck With Only Five Carry Options

When it comes to owning certain firearms, there seems to always be a couple bucket list guns out there for everyone. Movies and pop culture certainly influenced my love of firearms over the years and the TP9 was certainly one of them. Whether it’s paragliding pilots carrying a Steyr TMP shooting at Pierce Brosnan or Robert De Niro being shot at by a bad guy in the drive in movie theater with a TMP in the classic movie Heat, this little submachine gun was always such a cool concept and it was always a goal to own one. I’ve owned my TP9 and SBRed it for around three years ago. Let’s take a closer look at the classic B&T TP9.
