IWI US Appoints New CEO
Just last Thursday, Laura Burgess Marketing announced the promotion of National Law Enforcement Sales Manager, Casey Flack, to the position of CEO for IWI US.
Civilian IWI X95 Announced
After much teasing, IWI debuted their new civilian specific X95 rifle at this year’s Shot Show in Las Vegas. While we’ve seen select-fire SBR NFA controlled samples in the past, this was the first time a consumer ready rifle has been seen. For the unfamiliar, the X95 is an enhancement to the Tavor platform, currently in service with the Irsael Defense Force.
Official: .300 BLK for Tavor
Coming from Laura Burgess Marketing, IWI USA has pushed out an announcement about their newest product, a .300 Black Out SAR rifle, and a conversion kit for those with the 5.56x45mm version. The standalone rifle is going with an MSRP of $2,049, a couple hundred dollars more than the standard rifle MSRP. The conversion kit is going for $499. Both the kit and the rifle can be ordered in the 16.5 inch or 18 inch barrel versions. In addition the kit comes with a barrel wrench for those who might not have the issued barrel wrench that the original SAR came with.
MAC Torture Tests The IWI Galil ACE In Dirty, Gritty Mud
We all know the Galil ACE is a descendant of the famous AK series of rifles, but how well does it handle mud? Well, in the interim between the news breaking that IWI was recalling all of its newly released Galil ACE pistols due to the presence of a full auto sear pin hole and shipping the pistol back to IWI, Tim of the Military Arms Channel decided to give the new gun a little mud bath:
BREAKING: IWI Recalls Galil ACE Pistols Due To Full Auto Receivers
IWI USA has issued a recall for their newly released Galil ACE pistols due to the presence of a pin hole for a full auto sear. AKs with this pin hole have long been considered by the ATF to be machine guns, making this a major mistake on the part of IWI that runs afoul of the National Firearms Act. An IWI letter released to their distributors is replicated below:
Gun Review: IWI X95 Goodness
Just to preface this light review, there have been tons and tons of full on, in depth reviews and video testing of the IWI X95, from Small Arms Review, Small Arms Defense Journal (same articles, one might be more accessible to readers), our own Edward O or TV Press Pass, Tim from Military Arms Channel/ The Bang Switch, and even a member of the Israeli security forces, in addition to all the videos of good footage on the internet. So in no way is this write up ground breaking but is simply my views on the rifle from recently shooting it at Bullpup 2015.
Gun Review: The IWI Uzi Pro
Pistols based on rifles or submachine guns are nothing new to the shooting world. They occupy a niche market, generally where collectors cross over with those who want something more compact than a rifle but without the paperwork of an SBR. Because these pistols make sacrifices to meet legal requirements, many see them as “neither fish nor fowl”, but equally they have their defenders as well, who argue that they’re more effective than traditional handguns, but smaller than rifles.
Galil ACE Release Delayed Until Late 2015, 2016
Bad news for those looking forward to the latest Israeli Kalashnikov rifle: IWI’s launch of the Galil ACE to the US market has been delayed, according to a post on the US division’s Facebook page:
Jericho Now Shipping in US
IWI US announced that the steel frame Jericho 941 pistols announced in December are now shipping to US distributors. The new handguns are available in 9mm, .40 S&W and .45 ACP. The 9mm and .40 S&W pistols will be available in both a full size and compact version. The .45 caliber handgun will be only available as a compact model.
India May Scrap Rifle Competition
India’s rifle competition may be on the verge of cancellation. From Jane’s:
