In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves capitalizes on a rare chance for one of mother nature’s best Glock torture tests: tropical storm. Tropical storm Cristobal made landfall in Louisiana on June 7, 2020, so before the storm hit, James left his Gen 5 Glock 17 in the backyard. Out there it sat for two days in constant, driving rain. Once the storm lifted, James brought it to the range to see if it still functioned or if there were any issues. Tune in to see what happened.

With so many daily news around it’s easy to forget that at the beginning of the year it was announced that France had selected the Glock 17 as their new service pistol. This Photo Of The Day serves a reminder of this but also shows the pistol it replaces, the MAC 50.

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves subjects a Glock 17 (Gen 5) 9mm pistol to seven hours in a cooler with -100 degree Fahrenheit dry ice for a sub-zero freezing torture test. The Glock was then removed from the icebox and shot immediately to see if the most reliable handgun of all time could get through an entire magazine of ammo after extreme freezing.

Earlier this week TFB reported that France had selected the Glock 17 as their new service pistol. The French government confirmed that an order for just under 75,000 pistols had been made.

It is finally official. The French Ministry of Armed Forces have ordered 74,596 Glock pistols in a contract worth over 44 Million Euros (about $49 Million USD).
