The Ruger 10/22 is probably the most customized and accessorized rimfire rifle on the market today.  It seems that new gear for these rifles is popping up all the time.  Advanced Technology International (ATI) announced they are now shipping the AR-22, a stock system for the 10/22 rifles.

ATI has been competing with a number of other companies to create a true polymer lower for over a year now.  ATI had created the first OMNI polymer lower, which was reviewed here at TheFirearmBlog in February of 2013.  While the reviewer here had no problems with the lower, there are many cases described online of those lowers failing at the buffer tube collar and rear take down pin.  In response ATI created a second generation of the OMNI Lower, which has an aluminum block around the buffer tube collar and rear take down pin. While these changes appear to solve those earlier problems with polymer lowers, the new Gen2 Omni Hybrid rifles I received exhibited more serious problems.

ATI are now importing two new tactical-style 12 gauge shotguns. The TAC-PX2 (pictured above) is a pump action (pictured above) and the TAC-SX2 (pictured below) is a semi-automatic.

American Tactical Imports (ATI) showed the .22 LR GSG MP-40 at the 2011 SHOT Show, but has yet to deliver any to the public.  But, it looks like that will change in the coming months.

American Tactical Imports have developed a low cost AR-15 lower receiver made of a fiberglass-composite polymer with a zinc metal insert which encompasses the buffer tube collar and rear take down pin. The metal insert prevents the receiver from cracking due to force applied to the rifle’s stock, which is arguably the achilles heel of traditional all-polymer lowers.

American Tactical Imports have announced their relocation from Rochester, New York to Summerville, South Carolina. They will be creating 117 new jobs in the region. Earlier this year, after New York passed the seven round magazine bill, I spoke to a company employee who mentioned they were looking to relocate. That magazine limiting bill ended up having to be withdrawn a couple of months later, but no doubt it gave New York’s diminishing firearm industry yet another reason to leave.

ATI has developed a nice looking aluminum fluted magazine extension that will be available for a range of shotguns. Three different end caps are available. There is a regular flat cap, a flat cap with a swivel stud and a spiked stand-off cap. The stand-off cap would be useful for law enforcement officers with short barreled shotguns where the magazine extension will extend further than the barrel.

American Tactical Imports (ATI) announced they are now offering a California-compliant version of the GSG 922 pistol.  The 922 is a 1911 pattern handgun chambered in 22 LR.

In October, Steve posted information about the new FX 45 Titan Lightweight from American Tactical Imports.  Since that time, the specs have slightly changed, but the price remains substantially the same:  $597.95 US.

Two years ago, ATI introduced the Scorpion recoil pads that were said to significantly reduce felt recoil by the use of a new energy absorbing polymer.  The material had been developed to absorb sound waves, and ATI claimed it also was very good at absorbing the energy generated by a gun’s recoil as well.

Advanced Technology International (ATI) is now taking pre-orders on a new side saddle for the Mossberg 500/590 series of shotguns.  This new side saddle system allows the shooter to carry up to nine more shells mounted to the receiver.  Other side saddle products allow the shooter to carry five or six shells on the side of the receiver opposite the ejection port.

American Tactical Import’s Cavalry Shotgun will go on sale later this year with a MSRP of $489.99. Unusually for a budget double barrel shotgun, which are generally polymer stocked and blued all over, these actually look good. They feature a nice oiled Turkish Walnut stock, a stainless steel receiver with engraving and a blue ribbed barrel.

There have been many advances in polymer technology in recent years. These advances have been primarily in the area of accessories as far as AR15’s are concerned. ATI is moving ahead with a new major component for the AR15 constructed of polymer.The lower is called the “Omni” and is 100% made in the USA.

While looking over ATI’s new offerings I came upon the new FX45 Thunderbolt Enhanced. This is one 1911 that doesn’t lack a good number of included options.

I was finally able to handle a 1911 I’ve been curious about for a long time the ATI FX 1911 “Fat Boy”. This compact 1911 is a double stack that holds ten or twelve rounds of 45 acp ammunition. The finish is a Matte blue and is a lightweight configuration. The weight was not available today but appeared to be in the lower 30oz range.
