Riton Announces The 1 Tactix ARD 2

Riton has released their new 1 Tactix ARD 2 (AR dot), a red dot packed with features for a price that may be more friendly to budget-minded shooters. Riton intends the 1 Tactix ARD 2 to be geared toward carbine, AR pistol, and shotgun applications where a simple and affordable aiming solution is needed without sacrificing adaptability. Let’s check out some of the specs and features.

Construction

Construction of the 1 Tactix ARD 2 begins with a CNC machined one-piece 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum tube that is Type III Hard Coat Anodized. Riton multi-coated HD glass, with a 22mm objective lens, is dry nitrogen purged and sealed to provide optimal performance in all weather conditions. Capped windage and elevation turrets feature 1 MOA clicks with a 60 MOA adjustment range. The optic shares a common T2 footprint and uses a CR2032 battery rated for 50,000 hours of use.

Multi-Reticle

The Riton 1 Tactix ARD 2 is a multi-reticle system with a user-selectable 2 MOA dot, with or without a 30 MOA circle. The reticle features eight daylight illumination settings and a night vision compatible mode that Riton promises will provide a clear sight picture in any lighting condition.

Mounts

Two mounts are included with the 1 Tactix ARD 2, absolute co-witness and lower third. Having both in the box is a nice touch adding a level of adaptability depending on your specific application. Of course, as mentioned, the sight has a T2 footprint, so the sky’s the limit, so to speak, for all of you 2.26” and Hydra mount users out there.

Although Riton’s website does not specify the configuration, my best guess telling me sight alone, it lists a 1.5” height, 3.3” length, 2.0” width, and a weight of 7.5oz.

What’s in the box?

Aside from the optic itself, and the above-mentioned provided mounts, you can expect to see flip-up caps, hex keys, and a cleaning cloth with your purchase. Speaking of purchase, the Riton 1 Tactix ARD 2 is available now on the company’s website for an MSRP of $229.99.

With many red dot sights available these days in a similar configuration with a T2 footprint, tell us in the comments below if you think the cost of entry makes the new Riton 1 Tactix ARD 2 stand out as a competitor and if it may be an option for one of your builds.
