Photo Of The Day where we check out this TRS Comp build from Nighthawk Custom. They had my interest, and I’m pretty sure I share it with a lot of our readers. Here's a breakdown of the build, so you know what you’re looking at:

  • Silver DLC Finish with Polished Flats: Sleek silver Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating with polished flats.
  • Black DLC Parts: The contrasting black DLC components add a bold aesthetic and extra durability to high-wear areas. I love the look of the trigger!
  • IOS with Aimpoint Acro: Integrated Optics System paired with an Acro red dot sight.
  • Surefire X300: Equipped with a Surefire X300 light, providing illumination in low-light conditions, plus it blends in really well with the Black DLC parts.
  • Ambidextrous Safety: As you know, designed for both left- and right-handed shooters, of for when you have to go with our weak side. .
  • Fluted Hood: The fluted barrel hood adds to the visual appeal, plus it reduces weight slightly.
  • I had a look at the price so you don’t have to. The TRS Comp is $5,199.00, unfortunately so there goes my dreams. And that’s without most of the upgrades just described.

How do you like it?

There is no pistol good enough to be worth $5000 if you ask me. Not even close.

I get having nice things for a hobby but the law of diminishing returns is magnified on handguns. That basic looking 1911 shouldn’t be over 5k+.
