CrossBreed Announces The Chest Rig Nomad

CrossBreed Holsters is announcing its new Chest Rig Nomad, promising a perfect solution for hunters and outdoor adventurers traversing the backcountry. The holster is designed to comfortably and easily attach to the shoulder straps of a backpack, keeping your firearm high on the torso for quick access when needed.

Construction

At its core, the Chest Rig Nomad is a rugged Kydex holster attached to CrossBreed’s soft and breathable leather backer. The padded backer is wide, designed to distribute pressure and provide full support for your firearm, eliminating “hot spots” that cause discomfort during prolonged treks. The Nomad features three adjustable hook-and-loop straps, securing the system between the shoulder straps of most backpacks, daypacks, and cargo haulers.

Adjustability

The Chest Rig Nomad’s three-point system is flexible, adapting to different pack designs while providing adjustments that can be loosened or tightened to accommodate seasonal clothing. While the Nomad is handgun model-specific, the retention system uses pocket-to-backer screws to provide optimal tension on your firearm. The integrated trigger guard retainer can also be independently adjusted for perfect retention and draw performance.

Wearing or removing your pack with the Chest Rig Nomad is fast and easy with the included quick-release buckle system. Just release the buckle like you would a sternum strap and the pack can be taken off without removal of the holster.

The Chest Rig Nomad is available for a wide array of handgun models with assorted color options. It can accommodate pistol optics and a variety of lights and lasers if one so desires. You also have a choice between a durable black cowhide leather backing or CrossBreed’s popular Founders backing.

It has been a while since I wore a 10mm on my chest out in the Wyoming backcountry.
