Out of left field, Magpul announced another collaboration last week. This time it is with Maztech on their X4 System. It is an ammo management system combined with an optic HUD ballistic calculator and laser range finder.

A few years ago Quarter Circle 10 came out with their QC5. It is an 9mm AR receiver set that can take MP5 magazines. Well with the help of my friend Sean St. Cin they have refocused their brand and will be coming out with their QC10 MP-5 inspired YKMF-5.

Mantis showed off their Blackbeard AR Dry Fire Training System at SHOT Show 2022 Industry Range Day. This unique system is a drop-in replacement for the bolt carrier group and charging handle of a standard AR-15. It also uses a battery pack in the magazine well, which powers the Blackbeard and resets the trigger after each pull. Instead of constantly racking the charging handle to the rear, you simply pull the trigger again and again.

Meopta, a well-known European scope manufacturer, released a new budget-friendly scope line called the MeoSport R. This 3-15×50 scope has a second focal plane, illuminated reticle. It also features side parallax adjustment that goes from 10 yards (yes, airgunners and rimfire shooters, that number is correct) to infinity.

Last year Magpul announced a collaboration with Zev Technologies that would bring the realization of a dream to fruition. They will be making the Magpul FMG-9 but for the civilian market as the FDP-9. Last Friday they unveiled that it is coming and they have an FDP-9 prototype at their SHOT Show Booth.

New for 2022 from Browning is their X-Bolt Target rifle, in both standard and “Pro” trims.  Officially the “X-Bolt Target Max Adjustable Suppressor Ready”, the X-Bolt target has a few features that differentiate it from other X-Bolts.

AERO Precision unveiled two entirely new additions to their lineup at SHOT 2022.  Announced for the first time was the Lahar 30 silencer, and A700 bolt action rifle.  While the silencer was on display at range day I got my first look at the A700 on the SHOT show floor today.

At SHOT 2022, we got a chance to handle and shoot the new Savage Stance 9mm pistol. Announced just over a month ago, the Stance is Savage’s first concealable semi-automatic pistol since 1928.  Ranging from $479 to $561 MSRP, they represent another offering in the crowded subcompact 9mm pistol space, yet at a decent price to features ratio.

KelTec unveiled a brand new micro 9mm pistol at SHOT 2022, the P15. It is very much a part of the current trend of ever higher capacity micro concealed pistols. The P15 takes its name from the 15-round magazine that comes with the gun. A 12-round flush fit magazine is included as well.

EOTech unveiled their new EFLX Mini Reflex Sight and VUDU 1-10×28 FFP scope at SHOT 2022.  It’s clear that the company wants to both enhance and expand its current lineup to a broader market.  The staff at their booth were incredibly helpful and keen to show me all the new features for these two optics.

SHOT Show Range Day was all a buzz about the mic that Franklin Armory dropped. They unveiled a Glock binary trigger. Yes, you read that right. A pull/release trigger has been made for use with a Glock. We took a closer look at on the show floor and shot it at range day.
