The Marlin 1894 returns! Ruger have reintroduced the classic Marlin 1894. Chambered in .44 Rem Mag, the new 1894 Classic sports a beautifully-finished American black walnut straight stock and forend. The rifle is made from alloy steel and has a 20 inch cold hammer-forged barrel. The rifle’s tubular magazine that will hold 10 rounds of .44 Magnum ammunition, or 11 rounds of .44 Special.

The HammerDown series of ammunition by Federal Premium is one of the few lines of ammunition specifically engineered to ensure superior cycling and overall effectiveness for lever-action rifles. In 2020, the Federal first introduced the HammerDown line, which now encompasses a range of choices including 357 Mag., 44 Mag., 30-30 Win., 45-70 Government, and others. The latest addition to this collection is the HammerDown 444 Marlin, featuring a 270-grain load perfect for either states which require a straight-walled hunting cartridge, or just those looking to challenge themselves with a big-bore lever gun.

The trend of modernizing and updating the lever-action gun is seriously starting to take off with all sorts of great aftermarket parts that allow the attachment of virtually any type of accessory to your favorite lever gun. Midwest Industries has just announced their latest M-LOK handguard for Rossi and Winchester lever-action firearms. This new handguard like others in the lever-gun series is made from the 6061 hard coat anodized aluminum and features plenty of M-LOK sections for mounting accessories.

Today’s Photo Of The Day depicts a firearm with a very unusual combination of operating and feeding mechanisms. The pictures of this belt-fed lever action rifle were shared by FightLite Industries on their  social media pages. The gun is apparently made by combining their  Herring Model 2024 Modern Lever Action rifle’s lower receiver with an MCR Dual-Feed upper receiver.

TriStar Arms is expanding its lineup of shotguns with the new LR94 lever action 410 shotgun. This new shotgun offering from TriStar will come in three different variants, 2-1/2″ chambers, a 5-round tubular magazine, and will be compatible with Beretta/Benelli Mobil chokes.

Ruger has knocked it out of the park lately with their re-releases of classic lever-action rifles. Today they announced the reintroduction of the Marlin Model 336 Classic in .30-30 Win. Davide Pedersoli have expanded their line of 86/71 lever action rifles with the addition of the new 86/71 Droptine. Hello and welcome back to The Rimfire Report! This ongoing series is all about the rimfire firearm world and its many guns, ammunition types, and shooting sports! Last week we covered a little bit of long-range 22LR shooting news, talking about the maximum “reliable” range you can actually shoot 22LR out to. Personally, having participated in Rimfire PRS matches with a variety of rifles, 700-yards does seem a bit far for maintaining practical accuracy with such an anemic cartridge but like many of you probably saw in the video, you can still kind of get in the general vicinity of your target at those ranges but landing a shot even on a large 2×2′ steel plate is a dice roll, even with a very calculated shot. This week we’re jumping back into a review of a classic – the Henry Classic Lever Action 22LR Rifle.

I stopped by the Bond Arms booth, a company renowned for their myriad of Derringer models, and was met by something that immediately grabbed my attention – the new Bond Arms Lever Action.

SHOT Show 2023 has officially declared 2023 to be the Year of the Modern Lever Action, and POF USA is part of the zeitgeist. The new POF Tombstone has a traditional Henry style lever action, married to a modern aluminum receiver and handguard. It also feeds from the same detachable box magazines as the POF Phoenix PCC.

Patriot Ordnance Factory, aka POF-USA, is best known for their AR-pattern rifles, particularly their piston-driven models. The Arizona-based operation began its existence in late founder Frank DeSomma’s garage, fueled by his experience as an aerospace engineer, and is still carrying on strong in his memory with fresh products and innovation. They announced a new PCC, the Phoenix, at SHOT Show 2022, and are now doubling down in the 9mm game ahead of SHOT Show 2023. Their newest pistol-caliber gun looks a bit different, however. Meet the 9mm magazine-fed lever-action Tombstone.

The tried and true design of the lever-action rifle is still one that is a favorite of many shooters today for its reliability, and durability. The new meta with lever guns these days is adding various optics on top of the rifle but this was previously only possible with a handful of specific options. XS Sights has just announced their newest aftermarket sight offering with the introduction of their new Lever Rails for Henry Big Boy carbines chambered in .357 Magnum and .44 Magnum, meaning you can take these modern lever-gun offerings and pair them with modern optics.

This is a capable rifle that can be used for hunting, backcountry protection or for just owning a little piece of America.

The Marlin Model 1895 Guide Gun is back! Reintroduced by Ruger, chambered in .45-70 Govt. it’s been dressed up in a brown laminate stock with crisp checkering. The cold hammer-forged barrel is 19″ long and has a 1:20” twist. The metal has a non-glare, blued, satin finish and the bolt has been nickel-plated for reliability. If you like to use a suppressor or another type of muzzle device, the barrel comes with an 11/16”- 24 threading.

Welcome everyone to the TFB Armorer’s Bench! As mentioned in the little blurb below, this series will focus on a lot of home armorer and gunsmith activities. In this article, I decided to show the installation process of a large loop on a Henry 22 that made it to my bench. Now, full disclosure, this is my Henry from when I was a kid and I felt it was time for some upgrades because, well, I can. This is Henry’s youth model 22 lever action and during this process, I was also detailing switching out the stock and handguard for a Boyd’s Gunstock review over at AllOutdoor.com which is yet to hit the internet. In this article, I swap out the old lever for a large loop offered on Henry’s website as well as a new receiver cover that has a saddle ring in it just for the fun of it. Big Horn Armory first showed the prototype of their tactical lever gun at SHOT Show 2022. The company has now announced the release of the modernized version of their Model 89 lever action rifle dubbed  Model 89 Black Thunder (Model 89BT). Like the regular Big Horn Armory Model 89, the new Black Thunder is also chambered in .500 Smith & Wesson Magnum. The company markets this new lever gun as a quick-handling, rapid-shooting carbine that is perfect for hunting, home defense, or survival situations.

Henry Repeating Arms has a great history of auctioning off some truly unique firearms in order to support a good cause. This month they’re back at it again auctioning off a new one-of-a-kind rifle with the proceeds going to benefit the Shadow Warriors Project which aims to support private security contractors returning from the battle in some of the world’s most dangerous locations. The auction is for a custom engraved and detailed Henry .44-40 lever-action rifle which will ship complete with a velvet-topped walnut display case to truly make it a collectible item for the auction winner.
