POTD: Brazilian Federal Police with Bushmaster XM15-E2S

The recent arrest of Brazil’s former President Michel Temer on corruption charges – for the record, he was released some days later- by DPF – Departamento de Polícia Federal (Federal Police Department), while being driven from his home in São Paulo, was a quick opportunity to see one of the weapons in the inventory of the local feds. The agent seen in the sole picture made public is holding a 5.56x45mm Bushmaster XM15-E2S rifle fitted with an EOTech EXPS3 holographic red dot sight and its correspondent 3X magnifier. Interview with Ash Hess - The Man Who Won a DMR Match With an SBR

I was recently contacted by Corey Wardrop, Knight’s Armament Company employee and a former TFB TV videographer, who said that he has a story that might be interesting for TFB readers. Of course, I was all ears and when I learned that Ash Hess, one of Corey’s colleagues at KAC, won a DMR match with an SBR, it was immediately clear for me that this is indeed a story that I need to tell to our readers. Corey kindly introduced me to Ash. We discussed the story and came to a conclusion that the best way to convey all its nuances is to have it told by Ash himself. So, below I’ll present you the interview with Ash Hess.

SILENCER SATURDAY #64: 5.56mm Allen Engineering Suppressors

Good afternoon friends and thanks for joining us once again for TFB’s Silencer Saturday. We have a special treat for you today: a comprehensive test of five of the most popular Allen Engineering Suppressors available. The M4S, AEM2, AEM3 and AEM4 respectively are all designed around the profile of the M4 barrel. As a comparison, we’ll test the AEM5 (MK12 Silencer) on the 18” SPR platform it was specifically designed for the U.S. Military. The setup should be familiar since we metered the .223 AEM5 alongside the .224 Valkyrie AEM5 about six months ago right here on Silencer Saturday. I’ve shot my fair share of suppressors and still believe that the AEM5 is the quietest 5.56mm option available on today’s market.

YHM ULTimate AR15 Upper Review – Subsonic 300BLK Metering

Hot off the heels of double Yankee Hill Machine silencer reviews this past Saturday, we are right back at you today with some 300BLK subsonic goodness. The YHM ULTimate upper receiver (“top end”) was announced in mid-October 2018, and since the government “processing” of NFA items like suppressors is painfully slow, even if you bought one right away it would still be sitting in your dealer’s safe. However, thanks to Yankee Hill and Silencer Shop, we are lucky enough to be able to give you a preview of sorts into this suppressed upper receiver for your AR15.
