Polenar Tactical Hosting First-Ever "AK Operator" Courses in the U.S.A.

Žiga Polajnar, more commonly known as the face of Polenar Tactical (although many would argue  that title belongs to Manca) will be crossing the Atlantic from his home in Slovenia to teach two small one-day AK courses in Texas the week before NRAAM. Žiga is both a good friend of mine and one of the most talented tactical shooters I’ve worked with. His technical knowledge of the AK platform is top tier. Additionally, everyone knows that – all other things being equal – you get a 10-12% skill bonus when you are learning the Kalash from a genuine Slav, especially one who comes from a family of WWII and Slovenian Independence War vets. I’m upset that I won’t be able to attend personally, if only to prevent Žiga to tell drinking stories about me (if he does, I guarantee that they are somewhere between minor exaggerations and complete fabrications, including any pictures or videos he may have).

Sig Sauer P365 500 Round Review: Is it a Game Changing 9mm CCW?

In this episode of TFBTV, James gives the Sig Sauer P365 in 9mm a thorough rundown. On paper, the P365 looks like the ultimate carry 9mm: it’s as thin and light as most single stack 9mm pistols that only carry 6 or 7 rounds, while it can hold up to 11 (or 13 rounds with an extended magazine). James puts the P365 to the test today, firing 500 rounds of Sig and Ventura Munitions ammo, as well as Wolf steel, all while shooting from the holster and up to 50 yards away.

Mexican subguns: a quick look

Some days ago, while taking a look at some boxes of “unconventionally-filed” (messed, really) material in search of something, I came across a small brochure surviving from items collected at the 2013 LAAD Defence and Security Show in Rio de Janeiro describing a family of Mexican-made submachine guns being promoted by a company called X-Arms. Since the subject appears to be little known by the general public and a search in TFB-covered subjects was fruitless, I decided to give it some light.

[Big 3 East] Explosive Grand Finale By USA Chemical Supply

Does your SUV need a lift? Well USA Chemical Supply has the solution for you. USA Chemical Supply is a manufacturer of binary explosive targets. They have been a regular at Big 3 East for a couple years now. In the past Big 3 East would usually have a car and have a mad minute where everyone opens fire on it. The car would have several 1-5 lbs bags of binary explosive strategically placed on and inside it. This year they brought a lot of binary explosive and for the explosive grand finale of Big 3 East, they set up seven large boxes of binary explosive. The first five boxes were just stand alone 50lbs boxes of binary explosive. The last two were 75 lbs boxes one for the camper and one of the SUV carcass. They were smart to not put the binary inside the SUV but in front of it. Watch what 75 lbs of binary explosive can do to an SUV.

[Big 3 East] Maxim Defense HK416

Maxim Defense has made their name known for their PDW stock and SB tactical collaboration PDW brace. At last Big 3 East they had some HK416 rifles with their PDW Stock. I did not think much about it at the time but now that Brownells is importing HK416 parts my attention has been tuned to HK416 related items. The Maxim Defense HK416 rifles are sporting some upgrades. Interestingly these upgrades are independent of the Brownells story.

[IWA 2018] Zahal x Fab Defense MOJO Grip

Well I saw them at IWA and found out it was a collaboration between Zahal and Fab Defense. It is the MOJO Grip.

A Pair of "Nightmare" P-series SIGs from Robar and Gray Guns

When I first started carrying concealed, I was carrying a single-stack, striker-fired gun, but thanks to some inspiration from the late Bob Owens (RIP) and a chance encounter with a SIG P239 Gen2 SAS in a Houston gun store on my birthday, I ended up going DA/SA for my carry guns and haven’t looked back.

Brazil's INA submachine gun reloaded - Part 3

Shortly after completing the previously-described (http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2018/02/28/brazils-ina-submachine-gun-reloaded-part-2/) .45 ACP-to-9x19mm INA conversion at Brazilian Army’s Arsenal de Guerra General Câmara, in the Rio Grande do Sul State, the very same officer in charge was transferred to IMBEL’s Fábrica de Itajubá, Minas Gerais State, as head of the facility’s Research Department in 1982. It then appeared that the Army was still interested in giving the M.B.50 and M.953 submachine gun stocks a new breath of life, thus authorizing the Itajubá Factory guys to go ahead with new projects. The basic idea was for the factory to supply full conversion kits (barrels, bolts, magazines, etc.) to interested parties, mainly police agencies, so that they could carry out the transformation work themselves.

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves tests an SBR H&K MP5, an AK-47, and an AR-15 against a lightly loaded bookbag to find out if books are more effective than body armor against guns. Brazil's INA submachine gun reloaded - Part 2

After more than two decades of active service with the Brazilian Armed and LE Forces, the .45 ACP M.B.50 and M.953 sub guns manufactured by Indústria Nacional de Armas S/A during about the same time period, began to be gradually phased out from service as a result of the adoption of the 9x19mm caliber round as a local standard for pistols and submachine guns. It was just a matter of short time until several thousand INAs were in storage everywhere in military and police facilities began to call the attention of some people.  Maybe they could be, somehow, upgraded/refurbished so that additional use of them could be obtained at reduced, affordable cost.
