NOTICE: ATF Issues Public Safety Advisory To Alabama FFLs
Our friends at Orchid Advisors just made us aware of a procedural change in firearms transfers in the state of Alabama. Alabama FFLs can no longer accept the state’s Concealed Carry Permit (CCP) as an exemption for a federal NICS check. Apparently, Alabama has not been collecting enough personal identifying information from non-resident applicants to conduct a federal Immigration Alien Query (IAQ) as required by law. In addition, CCPs may have been issued to individuals who have not passed a NICS check.
EU Slimline Surprise! GLOCK G43X Rail And G48 Rail
“Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in…” one of the most butchered quotes in all of Hollywood history could be applied here tonight. Two weeks ago TFB broke the news that the GLOCK Slimline pistols, previously only available in two-tone silver slides, would be hitting the shelves in all black. Now, GLOCK EU is advertising the same new Slimlines with a slim mounting rail. Apparently dubbed the G43X Rail and G48 Rail respectfully, the new pistols seem identical to the U.S. offerings except for the addition of a mount for a light or laser.

NEW PISTOL: SIG Sauer Announces The P320 XFIVE LEGION
Geared towards the competition shooter, SIG Sauer has just announced the upcoming release of the P320 XFIVE LEGION – a full-size 9mm handgun with a tungsten-infused polymer grip module. Weighing in at nearly 44 ounces, the heavy tungsten/polymer frame allows for less felt recoil and a reduced muzzle flip. Having just held the P320 XFIVE LEGION just last week, I can attest to the fact that it feels great in your hands and points naturally.

[NRA 2019] NEW GLOCK G45 MOS Optic-Ready Crossover
As we reported a few weeks ago, firearms manufacturer GLOCK announced the procurement of a large, ten year contract to supply the U.S. Customs And Border Protection (CBP) with a series of pistols. Two of these guns, the Gen5 G19 and the brand new G47 are optics-ready or what GLOCK refers to as the Modular Optic System or MOS for short. While the G47 is still a CBP exclusive at the time of this writing, GLOCK is now debuting a G45 MOS pistol – a compact slide, full size frame crossover pistol that is also optics-ready.
NEW OPTIC: Trijicon SRO Reflex Sight For Pistols
Check out Trijicon dropping some reflex bombs ahead of the NRA Annual Meeting that starts in just a few short hours. As good as pistol reflex optics like the RMR are, they have an inherent field of view limitation. Without carrying a proverbial soup can on top of your favorite CCW, the window/sight picture is going to be constrained. The Trijicon SRO seems to have improved upon the RMR design without unnecessarily adding to to optic’s footprint.

Yet The Firearm Blog was deleted from Instagram.
TFB EXCLUSIVE: New CBP GLOCK G47, G19 MOS And G26
Within a matter of hours, the news of the GLOCK G47 which was designed for the U.S. Customs And Border Protection (CBP), had spread to every corner of the internet. Our inboxes were flooded with tips and images (thank you, by the way) along with a healthy dose of speculation and un-cited analysis. Being the respected firearms news resource that we are (don’t look at me like that), we held off posting any details until we could confirm their validity. Let’s take a look at what we know about the GLOCK G47, the G19MOS and the G26 specifically designed for CBP.

IWI's CARMEL Assault Rifle/Carbine Shown at LAAD 2019 Exhibition
Rumors that Israel Weapon Industries have discretely been developing a new 5.56x45mm assault rifle/carbine have circulated for a couple of years now, culminating with a brief (since taken out) TFB post on leaked material in July 2018. For the last nine months or so, nothing else emerged anywhere on the “mystery” IWI rifle, until the opening of the 2019 LAAD Defence & Security exposition in Rio de Janeiro on April 2. Sharing IWI’s booth with better known items such as the company’s TAVOR bullpup X85 5.56x45mm assault rifle and 9x19mm submachine gun, GALIL-derived, multi-caliber (5.56x45mm, 7.62x39mm, and 7.62x51mm) ACE rifles, 5.56x45mm and 7.62x51mm NEGEV light machine guns, the now-sleek 9x19mm UZI PRO submachine guns, the plethora of JERICHO pistols in different calibers, and some other stuff, sharp-eyed visitors could, then, distinguish three examples of hitherto unseen in public CARMEL rifle.

Beating stiff competition from five other companies, a variant of the B&T APC9 K has been adopted with an initial order for 350 guns confirmed. While the news may have dropped on 1 April, it is certainly not an April Fools joke.
BREAKING: California Magazine Ban Unconstitutional – For Now
On March 29th, 2019, a US District Court Judge for the Southern District of California issued an order striking down California Penal Code section 32310. This is the section of California law that relates to magazine capacity limits. Specifically, it makes it illegal to have any “large-capacity magazine”. Punishments ranged from a $100 fine per magazine up to a year in county jail. Consequently, until another ruling countermands this one, it is currently no longer against California state law to possess magazines that can hold more than 10 rounds.

BREAKING: Dick's Sporting Goods To End Gun Sales In 125 Stores
In 2018, Dick’s Sporting Goods halted sales of “ assault weapons” in all retail locations, citing the shooting at a high school in Parkland, Florida, as the reason for the move. The company also raised the purchase age of firearms to 21 and stopped selling “high capacity” magazines. Today, Dick’s will now end gun sales in 125 of their 700 total stores. Removing hunting rifles and ammunition, the only gun-related products remaining at the 125 effected stores, will make room for other “in demand” merchandise. The move apparently hurt stock prices as well as slumped a yearly profit forecast. At the time of this writing, the company had already removed hunting rifles and ammunition from ten locations.

Potential buyers who were on the fence of making an NFA purchase were nudged forward by a ‘two for the price of one’ limited offer.
