Carrying the LTT Beretta PX4 Storm: What Happened?

James Reeves
by James Reeves

In this follow-up video, JamesReeves shares the journey of carrying the Langdon Tactical Beretta PX4 Storm for the past month and taking it through an advanced pistol class at Thunder Ranch. Initially skeptical of the PX4 due to its bulk and rotating barrel system, he was won over by the upgrades and training received from Ernest Langdon himself. James gets into the performance, comfort, and practicality of this hammer-fired pistol in daily carry. He'll discuss insights from training, the modifications made by Langdon Tactical, and how this pistol stacks up against usual striker-fired favorites like the Glock 19 and SIG P365 series.

    Minor points:

    1. The PX4 isn't really 1.42" wide. It's 1.42" wide with the original bat-wing safeties, measured between their furthest points. PX4CC original or any PX4 with the stealth levers is no wider than a G19.
    2. The "Carry" lever (as in the PX4CC2) is a bit wider. Personally, since I don't spend a lot of time shooting videos in which I'm decocking every time on camera, I'm happiest with the slimmest lever. Fortunately you can mix and match, even go with 92-style levers if you like.
    3. Your RSO will have a fit at the range, but another carry method that works is ye olde shoulder holster. Very comfy for driving (or if you're Detective Fish from Barney Miller). PX4C will fit many G19 shoulder holsters; almost certainly not any with specific kydex molding.

    One question:

    1. As with many carry arms, the PX4C's barrel is shortish (3.27" I believe). Any personal favorites for carry ammo? Similarly, does yours favor any particular weight of 9mm for range purposes? (wait, that's two questions...)
