Gentex (Ops-Core’s Parent Company) has introduced an update to the FAST Bump Helmet. The most notable change is the removal of the molded shroud that was originally designed to accommodate airborne operations. Instead, it now features the same Lightweight Modular Bungee Shroud found on other helmets in the range. Additionally, the updated FAST Bump Helmet is equipped with PowerPath ARC Rails, allowing users to route cables behind the rail system, ensuring they are kept out of the way during use. These improvements enhance the versatility and functionality of the helmet for a wider range of users and operational needs. No weights have been given at this time and it will be interesting to see if these new helmets are lighter or heavier than the older models.

Helmets @ TFB:

The Ops-Core Future Assault Shell Technology (FAST) Helmet, often referred to as the FAST helmet, is a combat helmet that has been widely employed by special operations forces and law enforcement units worldwide. Notably, it serves as the standard protective headgear for the Norwegian Armed Forces and U.S. Special Forces.

Distinguished by its unique shell design, the FAST helmet incorporates ear-cut geometry that extends protection to the rear occipital bone while avoiding interference with load carriers. This innovative design optimized weight distribution, enhancing stability, integration, balance, and overall wearer comfort. Additionally, the helmet is equipped with versatile suspension and retention systems, as well as ARC rails, which function similarly to Picatinny rails, enabling users to attach accessories such as helmet lights and cameras.

Project Jedburgh was a joint Allied program, with the OSS Special Operations (SO) branch, the British Special Operations Executive (SOE), and the French Bureau Central de Renseignements et d'Action (BCRA) and is widely considered the origins from which all modern special operations draw their lineage from. The FAST helmet’s popularity within special forces communities has prompted Russian and Chinese manufacturers to create replicas for use by their respective special forces units and for export to international markets.
