Springfield Armory Echelon – 21st Century Handgun Inspired by Spartans

Being deep into the 21st century we thought we would be further along than we currently feel today in 2023. Marty McFly was riding a hoverboard in 2015 in “Back to the Future – Part II” (1989 film) and The Jetsons were promising us flying cars in space in the year 2062 (I don’t think we’re going to get there, ladies and gents). Within the firearm industry, there are a multitude of polymer handguns which are like 50 shades of the same thing. So, how does a gun company differentiate itself?… By adding in Custom Shop accouterments like being optics ready without the need for plates… being a chassis pistol so you can deploy multiple and varying frames… having the extendo magazines video games hype up and range goers authentically want… being textured well unlike some dolphin-mayo, slick guns on the market today… a superb trigger that is actually drop-safe… and the gun needs to be sexy as all get-out (no one wants an ugly sports car). The Springfield Armory Echelon is the epitome of what a 21st-century handgun should be with custom shop upgrades in an affordable, factory pistol offering. Let’s check it out.

Springfield Armory @ TFB:

The Springfield Armory Echelon deploys a lot of new technology that you are going to like. For one, it has an all-new Central Operating Group (COG) meaning that this is a chassis pistol. You can plug-n-play the internal guts into multiple different frame sizes. It also has what is called a Variable Interface System (VIS) which allows users to mount over 30 optics directly to the slide without the use of adapter plates.

The Echelon™ from Springfield Armory sets a new standard for modern, striker-fired duty pistols. With a host of patent pending features, this modular and highly adaptable handgun is designed around a robust stainless steel chassis and revolutionary optics mounting system.

Engineered with superior ergonomics and built to withstand the harshest conditions, the Echelon takes its rightful place at the front of the pack. The Echelon from Springfield Armory – Unparalleled.

The Springfield Armory Echelon will come in 4 factory configurations from the outset. You will be able to get a standard option boasting a tactical rack U-Notch rear sight and a tritium front sight with a luminescent ring. Then, there will be a low-capacity version for our brethren who live in restrictive states plus a 3-dot tritium and threaded barrel selections as well.

  • Echelon | EC9459B-U | MSRP $679
  • Echelon, Low Capacity | EC9459BLC-U | MSRP $679
  • Echelon, 3-Dot Tritium | EC9459B-3D | MSRP $719
  • Echelon Threaded, 3-Dot Tritium | ECT9459B-3D | MSRP $739

This pistol will also feature a bevy of legacy Springfield traits like Adaptive Grip Texturing (from the Hellcat), ambidextrous, multiple backstraps, oversized trigger guard for gloved shooting, trenched slide serrations, and a U-dot sight picture. New gun owners and old no longer want a simple handgun. Even if it is a factory model, they want the entire kitchen sink from the word “Go!” This pistol carries every imaginable trait that a concealed carrier, operator, and/or range LARPer could ask for. I’m personally excited this handgun is finally here and announced to the public. Be sure to watch TFBTV to check out James Reeves’ review of this handgun as well as my written review on our sister site of AllOutdoor.com. Lot of picky naysayers commenting. Fact is, Springfield makes extremely good pistols. I believe they are way better than Sig, Smith, and/or many others is the same price range. Suspect doubters have never owned one.

Inspired by Spartans? Who wrote this thing? It’s like saying meet the upgraded M4, inspired by Saddam Hussain. Never knew people get inspired by enemies they defeated.
