Photo Of The Day - The Uzi is many people’s favorite firearm until they get to fire one. But don’t let this statement ruin your dreams. Instead admire these wonderful images of running and gunning a pretty uncommon firearm. Above you see a U.S. Marine with 3rd Force Reconnaissance Company, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve, as he fires an Uzi submachine gun during exercise Resolute Sentinel 24 at Base Naval De Infanteria De Marina, Lima, Peru, June 6, 2024.

“The Marines participated in a training course for Peruvian commandos, using their standard-issue weapons, to integrate forces and build camaraderie. RS24 is a U.S. Southern Command sponsored exercise that consists of comprehensive joint training opportunities aimed at enhancing regional security and interoperability among the United States, France, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, and Brazil.”

Yeah, I know this feeling. It's like meeting one of your heroes and finding out they are just your run-of-the-mill crackhead. I've had a few firearms do that to me over the years. Well said!

The UZI is now a 70 year old plus design. It works just fine, but no, its NOT the best 9mm SMG on the market (any longer). People who complain about the UZI are likely the same who pick up an M1 Garand and complain about the weight or ergos and then point to a brand new rifle as a comparison.
