Vortex just announced their latest laser rangefinder. The Razor HD 4000 GB ballistic laser range finder connects to Geo Ballistics, a ballistic calculator app so when you range your target, it will show you what your bullet drop will be.

The Vortex Razor HD 4000 GB is similar to their previous Razor HD 4000 only now it has Bluetooth connectivity and some extra buttons on the top. The performance of the HD 4000 GB is the same as its predecessor. It can range out to 4,000 yards in ELR mode. It has HCD (Horizontal Component Distance) for measuring distance at an angle or LOS (Line Of Sight).

What sets the 4000 GB apart is its ability to connect to the Geo Ballistics app via your smartphone. When paired up, the HD 4000 GB will display your elevation drop for the distance you ranged.

The HD 4000 GB also has environmental sensors built in so it can take humidity, pressure and temperature measurements into your ballistic calculation.

There is also an onboard compass which plays a role with the wind component. It has two wind modes. The first is the Full Cross Wind mode, you enter the wind speed manually and if the wind is left or right. For a more precise wind calculation, the 4000 GB has Wind Bearing Capture Mode. You point the range finder in the direction the wind is coming from and you press the button on top. Now when you turn to range your target, the 4000 GB knows the direction the wind came from based on the internal digital compass.

With your purchase of the Razor HD 4000 GB, you get a free upgrade to the pro version of the Geo Ballistics app. However, the HD 4000 GB has an onboard ballistic solver. The range finder has three profiles and as default has ballistic data for .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, and 5.56mm.

Of course, with the Pro Version of Geo Ballistics, you can have as many gun profiles as you want. You just upload the top three into the 4000 GB.

@Mr.T Oh really? Show me a Chinese LRF that ranges this far and connects to Geo Ballistics.

I was at a high-angle sniper class a few years ago and we compared GeoBallistics with ABM and Strelok. I am a big fan of Litz but Geo won pretty easily... I immediately started looking for an LRF with Geo in it, this one is the first I've ever found so I'm buying it.

@The Wandering Sniper Interesting. I’m definitely going to compare it to AB.
