The Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm Gets WILEY with Coyote Brown Cerakotes

Springfield Armory is once again looking to kick up the curb appeal of one of their now mainstay handgun models in the 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm. This double-stack (DS) 1911 model that has been in the wild for a couple years now is officially getting dipped in a Coyote Brown Cerakote for a more attractive aesthetic and the same strong finish properties as the original Black Cerakote variants.

These new 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm handguns will retain all of the attributes we have come to know and love about the Prodigy except now you get that peanut butter drip colorway that many of us FDE fanboys are chasing. Initially, there will be four options available with 4.25” and 5” offerings as well as standard capacity and low capacity (for our restrictive state brethren).

Geneseo, Illinois - July 24th, 2024 - Springfield Armory® is proud to announce the launch of the Prodigy™ AOS 9mm pistol in a Cerakote® Coyote Brown finish. This new Prodigy variant is available in both 5” and 4.25” variants, in both standard-capacity and 10-round versions.
