When Pigs Fly: An 850 Round Burst From An M60
Though I’m spending most of my time this Saturday hitting a stack of thick books as part of my ongoing research, I wouldn’t want to leave our readers hanging. So, today we’ll take a look at an older – but still extremely impressive – video from back in the dawn of YouTube. That is, an excruciatingly brutal 2006 test of an M60E4 of firing 850 rounds with a single pull of the trigger:
15,000 Rounds and Counting. AR-15 Torture Testing (Now with Sand!)
Ballistic Radio has been diligently doing what most of us could not – torture testing an AR-15 through the end of its life. Now past 15,000 rounds of cleaning-free operation, they moved on to the “fun” part of testing, now using sand (on a closed dust cover).
AR-15 Torture Test: Helicopter, Tannerite, Cop Car
Andy of Florida Gun Supply sent this to us. They torture test an Enfield Rifle Company’s MERC415. They drop it from a helicopter. From the video, it seems they are only a couple hundred feet off the ground. They don’t mention what altitude they are at. It was interesting to see the baseplate of the PMAG fail and the spring popping out.
GunBox Torture Test
Larry Vickers takes the GunBox and does some testing to see how robust the GunBox is. He does two drop tests, drives over it, and then shoots the GunBox. I would have liked to have seen how one would open the GunBox after a Toyota Tacoma was driven over it. It crushed the electronics, but I think there is a manual override to get the GunBox to open. The shooting test was surprising.
