Rock Island Auction Company’s May 2017 Premiere Auction started on May 5 and ended on May 7. Among the main and iconic lots of this auction were Elvis Presley’s revolvers. The King’s guns were sold at world record prices both for the Colt Python and S&W Model 19-2 revolvers.

I am not afraid to admit it, one of the nicest triggers I’ve pulled has been attached to a high end air gun. The Daystate Airwolf has an electronic trigger that is silky smooth, producing repeatable sub-MOA targets. Our friends at the Rock Island Auction Company recently wrote about a very unique rimfire pistol with an electronic firing mechanism that is currently up for auction. The Walther FP gets its name from the 50 meter Free Pistol target event. From the description, the FP competition seems like a full on endurance challenge, with shooters standing locked in for hours on end.

Expos like the 2016 NRA Annual Meeting or the SHOT Show are usually places to find the latest and greatest in the firearms world. Sometimes, however, exhibitors bring along relics of the past, forgotten firearms that haven’t seen the public spotlight in decades or even centuries. For Rock Island Auction, these kinds of items are their business, and in reflection of that, the auction company brought some extremely rare and unusual rifles to the NRA 2016 showroom floor.

The Rock Island Auction Company has built a very earnest reputation for delivering extremely good customer service and brokering some of the finest (and most coveted) firearms in the world. I personally have done a lot of business with them over the years and I have nothing but overwhelmingly positive things to say about each experience.

For the collector of firearms owned by famous people in history, Rock Island’s next auction holds a weapon that could be the centerpiece of any collection: An M1 rifle, the “deadliest rifle in the world”, owned by John F. Kennedy:
