Mossberg .410 Bore Completes 590 Shockwave Line
Following the ground‐breaking introduction of the 12‐gauge 590 Shockwave in 2017, Mossberg has continued to expand the line-up with a 20‐gauge offering, and additional 12‐gauge models including the 590 JIC® (Just In Case) Shockwave. This announcement comes just months after TFB’s Nicholas C’s Mossberg coverage at GAOS.

Firearm Showcase: The Krutzsch Rifle, the Pumpgun's Steampunk Grandaddy at the Cody Firearms Museum - HIGH RES PICS!
In January, just before the 2017 SHOT Show, I got the opportunity to travel to Cody Wyoming to visit the Cody Firearms Museum at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, to see some of their rare firearms and bring photos of them to our readers.
TFBTV: The Turkish SAP-6 Mag-Fed Short-Barrel Pump Shotgun
In this episode of TFBTV, Edward O takes a look at the Turkish SAP-6 pump-action shotgun. This short barrel gun feeds from 6 or 11 round detachable magazines, and is available in 12 inch, 14 inch, and 18 inch barrel lengths. In Canada, these shotguns have a dedicated following as camp guns, truck guns, and tactical shotguns.
Shotgun Recoil Tip from Mossberg
Former USMC and current LEO Jeremy Stafford recently completed a video blog for Mossberg that caught my attention. The video blog’s purpose is to illustrate how to use recoil to your advantage, specifically with pump shotguns. For the video Stafford used a Mossberg 500 Pump Action Tactical Shotgun. In order to make the concept clear he exaggerated his movements; the goal is to practice this method until your movements are fluid and uninterrupted.
Custom Pump Action AR-15
Jamey Wojtasek, a local gunsmith and director of operations, with Pittsburgh Cerakote, modified an ALG Defense handguard and converted the upper to be pump action. This is the prototype. It is free floating and so it does not touch the barrel. It is a rather simple design. There is a metal collar inside the handguard attached to a rod. There is a slot for a picatinny rail to attach to the collar. The gunsmith attached a Magpul AFG but you can use anything.
Unproduced Browning Shotgun Patent From 1896
The Historical Firearms blog has a very interesting post on a forgotten John Browning patent for a (then-advanced) pump-action shotgun. The weapon features an enclosed hammer, dual extractors, and a tilting locking block reminiscent of the later M1918 automatic rifle. The gun in many ways foreshadows the “Perfect Repeater” Winchester 1912, but differs in a few tantalizing respects. First, the bolt locks via a separate block, like a BAR or MAG, not via tilting the entire bolt as in a Model 12. Secondly, the firing pin is raked at an angle, apparently to accommodate the low profile rear receiver.

The UMOS – Universal Manual Operating System Pump Action AR-15 Kit
Updated. Your eyes do not deceive you. That is not a free-float fore-end. It is indeed a pump-action AR-15, named the UMOS by Bentwood Gunsmithing of Nevada.
Troy Pump Action Rifle Features
Tactical-Life.com posted up a video of the new Troy PAR (pump-action rifle). Some interesting features are highlighted in this video. The stock is billet and the hinge can be flipped for ambidextrous folding. I am rather impressed how slim the stock is and more so when the stock is folded.
Pump action shotgun animation
A reader recently asked where he can find an animation showing how a pump action shotgun works. This is not the best animation ever, but it is all I could find. Click here to view it (scroll down the page).
