My friend Kris K. complied a few pics showing some HK416C out in the wild. The HK416C is a short barreled PDW with a collapsing stock. I have only seen the HK416C by VFC.

Dickson L. shared this photo of some MP7 rounds he got from his friend Joe. They are miniscule compared to the .50bmg rounds in the photo. They are 4.6x30mm.

Who doesn’t love pistol caliber carbines? They are a lot of fun and @Steve_mp5 looks like he has a wonderful case full of fun. He has a KRISS Vector 9mm. You can tell based on the magazines and drum mag. Then he has an MP5K with folding B&T stock. There is a Trijicon MRO and Eotech to use with these SBRs. The only issue I have is the light on the Vector and how close it is to the short vertical grip. Not a lot to hang onto and it is too close to the weapon light.

TFB’s Pete recently wrote about the European Sniper Competition, hosted by the U.S. Army in Germany.

France has just adopted the HK416 as its new standard infantry rifle, replacing the FAMAS, and Germany is on a path to a new weapon, aiming to divest herself of the controversial G36. This raises the question: Will Germany and France adopt a unified arm? These two nations, historically enemies but often partners after the Second World War, could possibly standardize on the excellent Heckler and Koch HK416 rifle, derived from the American AR-15 with the HK-designed male-piston short stroke high strength operating rod. Polish writer Remiguisz Wilk, writing for IHS Jane’s writes a short report:

This photo is of some Korean Special Forces. It looks like they are using HK MP5SDs however if you look more closely the front sight is wrong. In fact this is a Daewoo Telecom K7.

Soldier Systems Daily is reporting from Modern Day Marine that the U.S. Army’s Compact Semi-Automatic Sniper System (CSASS) will be getting an upgrade from H&K in the form of Geissele rail systems, in particular it appears to be their Super Modular HK Rail that retails for $430. The rails are confirmed, but unconfirmed posts state that the barrel twist will become tighter with a 1/8 twist, and a change from the H&K 2 Stage trigger to a Geissele trigger.

Jim of Burst Review got his hands on the new H&K VP9 Tactical. The VP9 Tactical now comes with a threaded barrel. Unfortunately it is only available in black. I would like to see their FDE version come with a threaded barrel.

Repeat after me: ‘I am not a hipster’. Ok, maybe you are – as long as you don’t shun or scoff my firearm choices. we won’t have any problems. In fact, let’s have a soy latte, wear some flannel and sit on some firewood. After that, we’ll grab our SilencerCo/SSVI VP9 Summit Series and shoot some recycled targets while listening to vinyl records. That’s the feeling I get every time I surf SiCo’s webpage, anyway. (I kid. I kid. Luv U SiCo. Call me.)

Self-proclaimed HK USP fanboy LifeSizePotato takes us on a video tour of his 10mm USP conversion. LifeSizePotato has an epic YouTube channel with some rather rare handguns that make me drool every time he releases a new video. I would sell a kidney to get a chance to go through his collection and fondle all the ultra cool pistols.

XTECH, known for ATG “Adjustable Tactical Grip” has announced the availability of their VP9 / P30 magazine extension. The new extension, dubbed the “MTX” adds 5 rounds to the total base capacity of 15 for a total of 20 rounds of sweet extended magazine goodness.

Previously, we discussed trying to lighten the soldier’s load by making the cartridge case out of different materials, including aluminum and compositing the case out of polymer and metal. Yet, wouldn’t the lightest possible case configuration be… Having no case at all? That’s the thinking behind one of the most ambitious ammunition configurations there is, the case-less round.

Heckler & Koch has had an unusual relationship with the striker-fired handgun. The world’s first polymer-framed striker-fired production pistol, the VP70, was an H&K, and what many consider to be the company’s finest handgun ever, the P7, was also striker fired. However, aside from those two, Heckler & Koch had not produced any other striker-fired handguns, despite being one of the world’s major pistol design and manufacturing firms. Had, that is, until the summer of 2014, when the company released a brand new handgun, which harkened back to the aforementioned VP70 with the name VP9.
