Faxon Firearms Expands the EXOS Pistol Compensator Line

Compensators used to be something you’d only ever find on competition-oriented guns. It seems as the concealed carry community has grown, however, more and more people are opting to train and carry pistols with compensators on them. It is for this reason that Faxon Firearms has developed and added three brand new options to their growing EXOS pistol compensator lineup to include compatibility with some of the newest modern concealed carry handguns on the market.

TFB Review: The Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro with HEX Wasp

I remember when the goal of all new cellphones was to be as compact as possible, even if that meant the buttons were almost impossible to use. Since then, there has been a trend of phones getting bigger, as people are seeing the benefit of choosing added capability instead of convenience. However, the rapid advancement of technology has landed us in a pretty sweet middle ground. Modern cell phones have all of the features we need while staying compact. Everything I just said about phones has been mirrored by the concealable handgun market. With advancements in magazines, belts, and holsters, carrying a larger, more capable firearm has become a more accessible option, and we seem to have landed in that same middle ground. Holding a flush 15 rounds, plus coming with a Picatinny rail, 3.7″ barrel, and an optics-ready slide, this is the new Hellcat Pro from Springfield Armory.

As winter approaches, new challenges enter the concealed carry arena. Heavy clothing on a bad guy and four-legged predator attacks while hunting means that many of us opt for more potent calibers. With these capabilities in mind, Springfield Armory has introduced a 10mm compact pistol option for those of us looking for that added punch. This is the Springfield Armory XD-M Elite 3.8” Compact OSP 10mm pistol.

TFB Review: The Competition-Minded Heckler & Koch VP9 Match

I’ve been shooting competitively for a couple years now. I haven’t taken it too seriously and the number of matches I’ve attended is still in the single digits. In all of those competitions, I’ve shot my mostly stock third-generation Glock 19. The pistol is a workhorse but is by no means aimed at competitive shooters. I always wanted to get my hands on a pistol that had competition in mind from the get-go. I saw people running tricked-out guns that cost more than my car. That clearly wasn’t for me. So, what options did I have? Not many. Heckler & Koch isn’t exactly known for affordable pistols, but that changed with the VP9. Now, in its more competition-driven configuration, the H&K VP9 Match gives shooters like me a chance at that race gun we always wanted, without needing the second mortgage.
