This is normally the season for generosity, giving and selflessness. However, it can also be a time where greed and desperation pops up, hopefully in small numbers. In Bedford, Pennsylvania, the Old Bedford Village historical site suffered from a burglary where six original historic rifles were stolen from the Gunsmith’s Shop.

The Vortek StrikerFire is a hammerless muzzleloading rifle from Traditions Performance Firearms.  The StrikerFire does not have an external hammer, which the company claims offers four distinct advantages:

Muzzleloading is by definition reloading. Because modern muzzleloaders are so simple to use, I suspect that many muzzleloader users treat them as regular guns without taking the same precautions as veteran reloaders.
