Brazil’s Federal Police Department (Departamento de Polícia Federal) is one of three federal police forces. Their role is roughly the same as the FBI and ICE in the United States. They are tasked with investigating drugs trafficking, money laundering, public corruption, terrorism, cyber-crime and well as being in charge of immigration, border security and airport security. They are well equipment with Heckler & Koch weapons including the HK 417. Eddie sent us a photo he took of a Federal Police HK 417 used as a Designated Marksman Rifle. It is equipped with a Leupold Mark IV 3.5-10X40 scope.

Jon Stokes posted on LMT’s new rifles for 2014, but I was able to go hands-on for a bit with the new stock. It immediately elicits thoughts on MagPul’s PRS, but upon closer inspection the stock is a unique solution for those seeking that extra customization. It is not “just a copy”.

I just noticed that the SCAR-H PR, like the H&K G28 DMR, lacks weight-saving cut-outs in the handguard (other than the cut out for access to the gas system), yet the prototype included cut-outs. I wonder why they were removed.

The Bundeswehr’s H&K G28 Designated Marksman Rifle is one nice looking, albeit heavy, rifle.
