Steelhead Outdoors Launches The Scout 25 High-Security Ammo Cabinet

If you have a lot of ammo at home, you know what an investment it can be. Whether you buy in bulk or pick up a box of your go-to whenever you spot it on the shelf, it all adds up, and it’s worth securing. Steelhead Outdoors, innovators of the fire-insulated modular gun safe, is introducing the Scout 25 Ammo Cabinet, a smart, modular, and secure option for ammunition storage that’s Made in the USA.

Construction

Let’s face it, ammo gets heavy when you have enough of it. Just kidding. You can never have enough. The cumulative weight of those high-velocity freedom projectiles requires a storage solution that’s engineered to handle the load. The Scout 25 Ammo Cabinet’s four all-metal heavy-duty full-width adjustable shelves are customizable with additional shelves, door organizer panels, and exterior accessories like the Case Keeper or Bow Keeper.

The Steelhead Outdoors Scout 25 Ammo Cabinet is constructed with 14-gauge steel and includes a UL-listed Sargent and Greenleaf Spartan lock, protected by a single-layer hard plate. Patent-pending vertical beam locking technology is fully supported to prevent bending, offering enhanced security compared to traditional bolts. The carriage utilizes 8 locks that engage every few inches along the door with corresponding reinforced slots to thwart pry attacks. In comparison, traditional cabinets use basic 3-point mechanisms on the top, bottom, and middle.

Weight and Dimension

The Scout 25 is 25” wide, 60” tall, and 15” deep weighing in at 175 lbs. Because of its modular design, the ammo cabinet is shipped in four boxes. With the heaviest panel weighing only 60 lbs, it can be assembled by a single person. Anchoring hardware is provided with each cabinet, and it is essential to secure it to a wall or floor surface as the cabinet can become exceedingly heavy based on the quantity of ammunition you wish to store.

The Scout 25 Ammo Cabinet is available now on the Steelhead Outdoors website with a price tag of $1,600 MSRP and ships for $150 in the lower 48 United States.
