It’s that time of the day that you’ve been waiting for. Yes, it’s time for TFB’s Photo Of The Day and one of the more unusual “guns”. Above you see a German soldier operating a counter-drone tool during a Kosovo Force training exercise at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center, Hohenfels, Germany, 2024. This “tool” is the “shoulder-supported anti commercial drone gun” called HP47, made by H.P. Marketing & Consulting Wüst GmbH in Germany. It has a red dot sight by Holosun.

Here’s how they describe the anti-drone gun:

“The 47 was developed in response to the continually growing threat posed by commercial drones. Approaching drones can be stopped and forced to land in a controlled manner or be sent back to their starting point in order to seek out the pilot.
The system is extremely light, does not require any external components and can be comfortably operated from the shoulder. An optional tripod is also available for the HP 47.
The commercial drone relevant frequencies are already pre-programmed, the need for programming is thus eliminated.”

100% serious question: How do you zero an optic for a radio?

Spectrum analyzer......set up an analyzer in the distance, sweep the "gun" back and forth until the analyzer peaks, then zero the optic on the analyzer.
