GOA, Canik, And Classic Firearms Team Up On The Limited Edition Canik

The Limited Edition Gun Owners of America Canik Mete MC9 will be available for pre-order soon, exclusively at Classic Firearms. The commemorative handgun celebrates GOA’s victories, with Canik investing proceeds back into the mission to defend, protect, and restore the Second Amendment.

In the beginning…

The Canik Mete MC9 spent over three years in R&D, with internal and ergonomic developments evolving in order to achieve the performance and fit demanded by those who everyday carry. Chambered in 9mm, the Mete MC9 is optics-ready, cut to 100% co-witness without the need for suppressor height sights. The micro-compact supports 12+1 and 15+1 capacities, with both magazine options included in the Limited Edition Gun Owners of America package.

The looks…

The pistol features a blue polymer frame and tungsten silver slide, with red and tungsten accented controls, GOA's signature colors. GOA is represented prominently on the slide, just below the ejection port.

What’s in the box?

Every GOA Limited Edition Canik Mete MC9 comes in a hard case with previously mentioned 12-round and 15-round magazines. A nice touch from Canik, that other manufacturers may want to take note of, is the included inside the waistband holster, putting the pistol into use right out of the box. Just add ammo. The kit also contains three backstraps to customize your grip, a cleaning and tool kit with a punch for maintenance, a pinky rest baseplate, and a speed loader. Also included is an exclusive GOA patch that is only available with the purchase of this limited-edition pistol.

Membership Has Its Privileges…

I have yet to see the MSRP on this pistol, however, GOA members will qualify for a discount using their membership code during checkout. Those who are not GOA members will receive a free membership. Don’t miss the opportunity to own this limited-edition pistol and to support one of the most effective 2A rights organizations in the business. Speaking of defending the Second Amendment, Canik is donating $50.00 from each purchase directly to Gun Owners of America, showing their commitment to freedom and the community.

Speaking with GOA’s Senior Marketing & Development Officer Clint “Magdump” Morgan, here is what he had to say about the collaboration between GOA, Canik, and Classic Firearms:

“It just makes sense that GOA would partner with Canik to make an exclusive Mete MC9 pistol. I believe it is one of the best out-of-the-box pistols you can buy for everyday carry or conceal carry and has one of the best triggers in the game while being budget-friendly. Additionally, each sale of one of these MC9’s will contribute $50 to GOA’s mission to Defend, Protect and Restore the Second Amendment and a GOA membership. Exclusively being sold through our friends at Classic Firearms.”

Tell us what you think of this unique-looking commemorative micro-compact, and how you feel about GOA’s mission and the victories they have championed thus far for the community. Are you a member? I sure hope these run better than the MC9's that a whole lot of us got. Mine malfunctioned right out of the gate. Multiple failures to return to battery, multiple ejection issues and the slide just being a tiny bit out of battery causing dead triggers. They sent me a new recoil spring which I haven't had a chance to try yet but it's unacceptable that guns are still being shipped with these problems more than a year after the first complaints started.

That said, it's otherwise a fantastic carry gun so I'm committed to making it reliable. It can be done as others have shown. All the included goodies are great (the tiny gun tool is effective and fun) but the included holster is not something I would ever use. Even tightened up as far as possible the retention isn't enough to make me comfortable enough to trust it. The mag loader doesn't really work. I tried it several times but finally tossed it back in the case and got my MagLula out. The gun is accurate, feels great, has a very good trigger and shoots like a much bigger gun. I highly recommend them with the caveat that you may have to deal with some problems out of the gate.

GOA is partnering with a TURKISH gun manufacturer (the same Turkey that funds terrorism)?!?!?!? Why? This is a horrible look to me and foolish! There's so many fantastic American gun manufacturers and you have chosen to team up with a Turkish manufacturer? Come on! I really support GOA and the 2nd amendment...but I don't like this a bit!
